Lovely old pub - dates back to 1630 - real fires inside and excellent beer garden looking out onto the estuary. Food is fantastic and brilliant service - we?ll keep going back ??

An evening meal with friends and all our expectations met once again. We booked a table for 4 inside. They have very nice outdoor areas, but the weather wasn?t suitable. I had a superb braised lamb & mint pie. Served with mash and my partner kindly donated her chips, which were also superb. Two pints of Wainwright made it a perfect combination. There was an optional 7.5% service charge added to the bill. I can only hope it is given to the staff and still feel it?s a bad practice that restauranteurs should stop. But it is a practice that is spreading like wildfire. Any politician suggesting a better alternative will get my ear. We split the bill and paid just over £30 each. We will return.

An excellent meal out with family - plus 30% off on a Tuesday! Lovely historic pub. Good beer, nice menu. A change from chain pub food and well worth the trip.

Went for a leaving lunch and sat upstairs. Was great until a large group of ladies came in who were very loud. The wait on food was quite long considering it was lunch time and we looked like worker people but still the food was good when arrived and had a lunchtime discount on. It is dog friendly but she didn't come this time. Well stocked bar.

Beautiful location, plenty of seating both inside and out. The food was lovely although I had 2 starters, my friends had mains. It was a little on the pricey side but the location made up for it

Lovely afternoon at the Ship at Freckleton. Great food. Staff were smartly dressed and well prepared for any of our questions. All 5 of us enjoyed all the dishes. I had meatballs in tomato sauce to start then braised beef wellington followed by home made rice pudding. The perfect way to celebrate my daughter graduated from Essex University. Thank you to the staff
