Brilliant for grabbing essentials literally on my door step

When you enter a store, you'd expect the baskets to be easily accessible to customers, placed along the usual flow of foot traffic. However, in this particular Asda store, things are different. The baskets are inconveniently located next to the exit door, making it a challenge to grab one without battling against people leaving the store. Either the staff are unwilling to take a few extra steps to put the baskets in a better spot, or Head Office wants to use the space to sell other products and ignore the inconvenience for the customer. At the back of the store, there's a section for selling hot food, including sausages, bacon, chicken, and other similar items. I'm not an expert in food hygiene, but their hot-holding equipment is meant to keep food warm, not reheating it. Unfortunately, I saw cooked food being left out (covered) until it was almost cold, and only then was it put into the hot food cabinet.I will remove this part of the review if they tell me what I described above follows food hygiene guidelines.

Great shop for topping up the cupboard. It's got hot chicken and pies, a bakery section. Some of the prices have gone through the roof. Nevermind.

I was party to an incident in this store this morning at round about 7.20 . Two male members of staff approached the checkouts and started talking to the lady who mans them . She looked uncomfortable then one of them started raising his voice and referred to her as a B**** (female dog ) and some other rude words and vitriol were hurled at her , another colleague tried to intervene and finally a senior colleague pushed the man back . It appeared very intimidating for the lady .I was very taken aback by this sort if behaviour by a member of staff towards another and the fact it was in public on the shop floor didn't stop him . I would hope this incident was an isolated one as it doesn't make for a pleasant shopping experience .

Noticed two plant based Xmas platters were priced up wrong , I informed a young male assistant and I said it politely. He rolled his eyes at me, stormed off to get a price checker without even a simple thank you. I work in retail myself and I know it?s hectic at this token of year. All I can say is it?s a good job i wasn?t a secret shopper rating the store cos now i won?t go back there. Very disappointed

Small, intimate, dark, dingy, but pleasant staff.Much more of a bad co-op local than an Asda. Except with co-op they have the sense not to use dark coloured fittings and black signage

For a small store plenty of goods on offer. Self service not for everyone. I don't mind. Good friendly store.

This is the worst ASDA store I've ever been in for a number of reasons.First, instead of finding or building a suitably sized premises they've crammed as big a range of stock in as possible by making the aisles unbelievably narrow. This makes it impossible to socially distance, but even before the pandemic it was hugely claustrophobic. And I'm not sure if an emergency evacuation would be able to be done safely, for example in the (God forbid) event of a fire.Second, the entrance and exit doors are right next to each other. In itself not a problem, but due to the daft layout just inside the doors anyone entering has to battle through the people leaving in order to get to the baskets. Whoever designed this layout has clearly never done their own shopping.Third, there is a cash machine but it's been sited right where people wait for taxis / vehicles. Huge clog of people getting in each other's way.Fourth, there's a tiny car park that's incredibly difficult to get in and out of because the entrance is right on top of the taxi pick up and drop off point. And when you do finally get on to it the tininess of it makes getting into and out of the spaces incredibly difficult.Fifth, you can stand at the tobacco counter for ages waiting to be served because it's not staffed full-time and the 3 tills there double as self-service tills.Sixth, almost all the tills are self-service. (This appears to be true of all ASDA stores these days.) Self-service tills in any shop are purposely designed to irritate and frustrate customers without offering them any benefit whatsoever. I strongly suspect that they are a sign that Skynet exists and is growing in strength and influence.Seventh, at busy times the queue for the tills stretches right into the tiny store further interfering with the ability to distance, causing general chaos and proving the worthlessness of self-service tills to customers.
