We met here after our weekend away, and before having to re-join the M6! This was a great choice. The bar was friendly with a great selection of beers, and drinks, including non-alcoholic.
What made it though was the food. We had a selection, of pies, roast meals and burgers, and all were excellent. They were hearty, well made, and delicious. If you are looking for great food, this is a good place to visit.

I can?t really speak for the whole menu as I?ve only tried one dish here? but that dish was *incredible*. I ordered the roast pork belly, which came with potato dauphinoise and green beans, and it was an absolute thing of beauty.
The pork itself was a three-in-one experience: on top, crispy, salty, perfectly crunchy crackling; in the middle, soft, melt-in-your-mouth belly pork; and on the bottom, a golden, pan-fried base that added even more texture and flavour.
The potato dauphinoise were the most delicious, creamy layers of potato I?ve ever had. Clearly packed with cream and calories, but worth every bite. Even the green beans were a delight. sweet, crunchy, and perfectly cooked to cut through the richness of the pork.
The whole plate was tied together with a generous amount of gravy (or jus?) that was rich, slightly sweet, and plentiful enough that I didn?t feel the need to ration it.
This pork belly was So good that I came back the next day and ordered it AGAIN! ? That tells you everything you need to know!!

Brilliant food and service. Very busy restaurant/pub. Large & very tasty portions. Ask for a doggy bag if you can't finish your dinner. Also nice choice of real ales on handpump.

Well worth a visit. Lovely country pub with exceptional dining. 6-course tasting menu with matching wines every 6 weeks (7th-8th August 2025 then end Sept date TBC. Music festival 25th July weekend too!!

It's listed as a free pub stopover, providing you use the bar/restaurant!
The barman was very friendly & the service was great! The kitchen was closed, but we had a couple of drinks each!
Unfortunately, it's on a busy road so there was a lot of road noise during the night, hence I didn't get much sleep! ?? Would definitely go back for the beer & to try the food, but I would find somewhere quieter to park up for the night! ??

Never had a problem here. Sunday Lunch is as good as you will get anywhere. Oh and the Marmalade ice cream
