We really enjoy every visit to The Lampost Cafe, Burrs Country Park, and as someone with Coeilac disease they cater for me very well and it is much appreciated, thank you to you all .

We booked the private function room for a baby shower for 30 ladies.
The room was absolutely beautiful. The tables set out in 3 tables of 10, with gorgeous mix match china pottery.
The afternoon tea was outstanding.
I would highly recommend the Lampost for a private function.
Nicola, thank you so much from all 30 of us. You made all of us feel extremely spoilt.

First visit a couple of days ago. Myself and three children.
The lady who dealt with us, who I presume is the owner was smashing, very welcoming. She could see I was struggling with my youngest and quickly went and got him an ice cream so he could settle and a highchair.
Food was spot on, very large portions and good quality. Will definitely visit again.
Thank you. ( Romans mummy) x

Had a lovely day today. Breakfast was delicious and so was the cake in the afternoon. Staff were really friendly and accommodating considering we were a table of 4 mums with 4 babies in prams. Good value for money. Thank you to all staff.

What an absolutely incredible place this is. We were staying on the caravan and motorhome site and decided to pop in for a full English. Food was delicious, decor immaculate with a roaring log burner. Staff very friendly, especially the man of the cafe who managed to nearly win over my anxious cavapoo. He took time to bring my little pooch a treat, all natural, knowing that he was nervous of men. This was very thoughtful and appreciated. We will definitely be back as we want to sample the cakes on the counter that looked devine and also the hot choc of the day.

Asked for a grated cheese children's sandwich, received a miniscule, thin cheese spread sandwich, costing £3.50 for just this no sides with it, not worth the money at all compared to other deals at cafes we've been too. My son did not like the cheese spread, which is why I asked for grated. When I mentioned this to staff, that it didn't have grated cheese on, they said they didn't serve grated cheese on sandwiches to children ( even though it was on their general food menu with other dishes, so they had it in stock). They did remake this but told us that this was a one off and to next time not ask for it, the waitress was rude and was relying this message from the kitchen. We will not be eating there again as this was poor customer service. My son my very upset. We have been to plenty of other cafes who are more than happy to provide slight alternatives to food if necessary.

Headed in after a chilly day paddling on the river, staff were lovely and the selection of food and drinks is fab!

My brother in law and I cycle the 5 miles there on a Sunday morning to get breakfast. Always clean and fresh at the cafe with indoor and outdoor seating. The coffee and especially the bacon and egg barm are the best. Cooked to perfection every time. There is a caravan/camping site right next door ( walkable) and river side and parkland walks there too. Dog friendly and even a steam railway adjacent. Lots to do and perfect to blow off the cobwebs any time of year

AVOID!!! This place, which has the potential to be a lovely cafe REQUIRES A NEW MANAGER who knows how to speak to people and has even the basic level of customer service skills, unlike the current manager. I had an awful experience when I received something different to what I had ordered (as I am a normal, polite person, this was not a big problem and could be easily rectified by the staff when I told the manager who served us the food it was not what I had ordered). Instead of talking to me politely and offering to resolve the issue, she had a very nasty manner and was almost telling me off, I was made to feel like I was completely stupid and she had me on the verge of tears. I was shocked to learn that she is the manager as the way she spoke to me was so unprofessional and unwelcoming, I will never return to this cafe and would not recommend it to anyone. It is also ridiculously over priced.

Great snacks and excellent coffee. The coffee blend from Second City in Manchestet had no bitter flavour. Really nice. Lovely sitting outside on the cobbles after a walk in the Burrs Country Park

Had the most amazing Afternoon Tea?the right combination of sandwiches?savouries and cakes washed down with plenty of tea and coffee. The service was excellent and it was a lovely touch having the owners come to our table. They even kindly boxed up our leftovers. I would highly recommend a visit. Thank you for a great experience.

Located within Burrs Country Park is this hidden gem, lovely atmosphere, friendly staff and quality food and is dog friendly, the menu is not extensive, except at weekends, but what there is doesn't disappoint, look forward to visiting again.
