I have walked past this place a couple of times while going for a walk and never stopped until recently.
Food was amazing, went on a sunny day so able to sit outside but inside looked roomy and clean

Yes was lovely food was busy so waited a while but the food was lovely service was good great pint of guiness and cruzcampo very clean and tidy lovely staff especially Nicky who served our drinks will be back again

Great to see that The Thornton was busy at 6pm. We found a table in the dining area were quite a few people were already eating.
Great choice on the menu. I picked 3 starters for £20 which could have served 2 people. The food was nicely presented and served by a polite member of staff who came back later to ask us if everything was OK? Which it was.
We ll definitely be back.

Absolutely gorgeous pub. Lovely inside and out and the staff were really helpful and friendly . Had the best Sunday lunch I've ever had from a pub . Will definitely visit again .

First quick visit after a walk at Rowley Lake. Large free car park, loads of room. Wheelchair friendly & kid friendly, high chairs available. There's 2 beer gardens, x1 large one situated at the back lot's of benches to sit down. We arrived at 615pm, enquired about food, told it was served until 7.45pm..but then on asking for a menu was told kitchen is closed at 6pm. Just had pint's with friends b4 leaving.
