“Checked in for a nights stay whilst away with work. Very quirky and unique hotel with amazing decor and a wonderful history. Such a great find and a welcome change from the modern, bland offering of the chain hotels. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. Ate in the restaurant (main and desert). Food was first class, delivered quickly and was very enjoyable. Breakfast was equally as good with lots on offer. Chef took the time at breakfast to check how our evening meal was and that we were happy with the service. Very enjoyable stay and shall look to return when next in Burnley.”

“We visited Higher Trapp for a 3 day break, one of their new deals. I was very impressed to be provided with an itinerary of things to do, some arranged in house. I have mobility problems, and we had a room on the ground floor with an adapted bathroom. Although it was in the Lodge, aka Annex, and at the far end of both car parks, the hotel will arrange for a member of staff member to drive you between the main building and the lodge on request. The bed was comfortable , the room was clean and serviced daily. All of the staff that we met were lovely, from the various reception staff, to the very busy serving staff. Exceptionally warm and welcoming. The food was pleasant, but a bit mixed. My gammon steak was overcooked for example. The gravy, where served, seemed to have come from a jar. The mashed potatoes were frozen or dried, but not fresh. In the room there were no complimentary toiletries , or tooth mug or container of any kind. The fold away shower seat was a real boon. The water from it was quickly very hot and plentiful. There are a few niggles anywhere you go, but at the Higher Trapp they were such that it will deter us from visiting again. Just do not expect fine dining. We really enjoyed our visit to this very lovely hotel. The surrounding countryside is spectacular, with the Trough of Bowland providing just one of many scenic drives. Treat yourselves to a mid week break.”

“Nicest staff in a hotel I've ever experienced. All the girls I met were SO friendly, helpful, welcoming and lovely. Felt like they couldn't do enough for me. I'd give the service more than 6 stars if I could! Wish I had the names of them all the thank each of them individually.”

“What a lovely experience staying at this hotel. All the staff were brilliant. They were very professional but friendly and very helpful. The food was absolutely lovely, especially breakfast and the 24/7 menu. The room was comfortable, quiet and dark enough to sleep well. Unfortunately, on the last night the Air Conditioning Unit noise kept waking us up during the night. Also, the lift broke down on our last day, and walking up to the third floor was very difficult and probably impossible for some people. I can't believe such a big hotel hasn't got two lifts!!!Overall, a very pleasant experience and we wouldn't hesitate to stay again if we visit Burnley. The walk along the canal into Burnley is very pleasant too.Walkability: Easy walking into Burnley along the canal.Food & drinks: Breakfast was great. The 24/7 menu was very nice too.”

“Stayed overnight so I could attend a school reunion in Colne. Hotel was spot on. Hotel staff warm and friendly, Had a a full English breakfast, the usual Premier standard buffet breakfast with a wide choice, the buffet was well stocked and fresh. The room and bathroom was clean and fresh. Great for parking the car. This hotel is more on the outskirts from Burnley town centre but a walkable distance. Plenty of local taxis available if required. Got a taxi to Colne. Great hotel to use as a base if you are visiting Pendle area or Howarth.”
