Not as good as it used to be

I would rate this much higher if the building wasn't so unrelentingly ugly. Built in 1969 it has never been updated and it was never a grand midcentury architectural achievement. Stores are good though. Very lively atmosphere and very functional. Nice covered walkways too. But we had lunch on a sunny day opposite the glaring white facade and I had to keep my sunglasses on inside due to the glare. Not ideal, mall doesn't blend well with the surrounding buildings either, desperately in need of an update. I know it's easier said than done though.

This is the centre of burnley. Good selection of shops and cafes. It would benefit from a renovation of the market hall but it has plenty of paid parking available and loads of shops. Great for a day out.

Nightmare to get to with the road works, poor diversion signs that someone has altered to cause confusion arrows pointing the wrong direction so anyone new to the area will never find it
