Two inquests confirmed awful care staff didn?t understand early warning scores even when they tried to contact a dr senior nurses who had been there 20 years didn?t know the correct pathway. Not safe for surgery care please go elsewhere if you can.

As hospitals go it ain't bad.
Signage inside is very poor with departments having names than on the appointment letter that has been sent & departments keep getting moved to different places.
Takes ages to find the right place you're supposed to be at.
Waiting is typically over-long with apologetic staff hiding behind the fact that the NHS is shambles.
Too many staff wandering very slowly & chatting about in receptions & corridors.
Needs some different management.

Blackburn hospital gets a lot of stick and when I learnt my operation would be at Blackburn and not Burnley I instantly felt worried. I have to say what a fantastic service I?ve received on the SADU unit (20/8/25), all the staff were brilliant and a credit to the NHS, I felt safe, they were always on hand if I needed anything or had any questions, the whole day ran smoothly and I was taken care of brilliantly. Thank you for everything!

I went to urgent care on Wednesday the 3rd of July after a fall on a holiday and with a plaster on my left foot after a long wait was seen by the doctor and sent for X-ray however, after the x Ray I was taken to the heart ward where after nearly six hours wait the doctor said I could go home . WHAT ABOUT MY FOOT FOR WHICH I CAME TO THE HOSPITAL. Well I was told it had nothing to do with them . I was left in agony and tears . My daughter then contacted the hospital and after a lot of hassle, which I am sure you can guess, I was given an appointment for the fracture clinic for the following Monday. I must sai I can?t fault the fracture clinic staff they were sympathetic and wonderful

Outstanding Care from Dr. Ines Del-Negro
We had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Ines Del-Negro when we brought our 3-week-old baby to the emergency department. From the moment she walked in, her warmth, professionalism, and genuine care immediately put us at ease. She was not only incredibly kind and compassionate, but also highly knowledgeable and thorough in everything she did. It was clear that she truly cares about her patients and takes her work very seriously.
We are so grateful for the exceptional care she provided to our little one, and we left feeling reassured and confident thanks to her. Dr. Del-Negro is truly a wonderful doctor and a lovely person ? we feel very lucky to have met her.

My mum is currently on c10 the nurses and HCA are rude bad manored and argumentative. Neglectful. Yesterday I visited my mum 6th August 2025. I went for a coffee well a nurse and hca bed bathed my mum. I came back to c10 my mum looked scared and shaking. I said what's up mum. My mum said they just gave her a freezing cold bed bath. So I questioned the nurse about it she denied it and was rude and started shaking tap and raising her voice so I told her straight don't raise your voice. And she kept on saying no warm. I checked water it was warm. I think they trying to abuse my mum. If they do watch ??

Awful hospital, i had to go back 3 times while being assessed by 111 as the doctors and nurses kept me waiting around 6 hours and symptoms getting worse then to be told i needed to take paracetamol for my injury. completely incompetent and unprofessional nurses. I was having an ECG scan and they were making laughing jokes and talking about clubbing??? while i?m on the bed worrying about myself rather than them reassuring me. nurse who takes you after you make a booking on the ipad is just as bad. she has no care in the world about you, stares and looks at you like you?re a monster. never again. it needs sorting out and staff trained properly. Not all the staff was awful, only a few certain individuals were.

Disgraceful Service ? Blackburn Hospital is a Joke
Went to Blackburn Hospital last night and I am absolutely fuming. We were dragged through a load of pointless tests, left sitting around for hours, and in the end, NOTHING was done. No treatment, no answers ? just a total waste of time. The whole place is a shambles. Staff are clearly stretched to the limit, the system is chaotic, and nobody seems to care about the patients.
The government seriously needs to sort this mess out and hire more staff because this is beyond unacceptable. People are left suffering for hours with no proper help. Absolute joke of a hospital ? avoid it if you can!

I was transferred from Burnley to Blackburn,The staff are unbelievably Brilliant kind and nothing is to much for them ,kind considerate friendly,I can?t say enough for them and the meals are brilliant as well with a large choice.

This post is about my husbands experience at BRH hospital today couldn't have asked for better treatment the staff each and everyone of them were understanding polite and very professional. My husband had a scare in adult urgent care and was rushed to resus immediately and seen to straight away I was terrified but was assured by a lovley nurse that he would be fine and kept me informed throughout a big thank you to each and everyone of you .Leslie Broadley.

I recently received treatment at Blackburn Hospital for a broken ankle, and I can?t praise the staff enough. From A&E to the orthopaedic team, every step of the process was handled with professionalism, care, and compassion.
The doctors quickly assessed the injury and explained everything clearly. The surgical team did a fantastic job repairing the break, and the aftercare has been second to none. Nurses, physios, and admin staff ? all were friendly, supportive, and went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable and healing properly.
Thanks to their expertise, I?m now well on the road to recovery. I?m truly grateful for the excellent care I received. Thank you, Blackburn Hospital!
