Awful service from this store , been there to collect my stock , only to be told that they have checked your account and that I have ordered this item too many times and that I cannot by that from the company/ store again . I spend thousands per month online and instore with Argos and to be told tha they are cancelling my order is an absolute disgrace, I really hope that the Argos goes bust soon due to things like this as I will tell all my friends and family not to shop at this store , I have emailed the CEO of Argos and awaiting a response . Never again will I go in this store again.

New colleague refused to sell product because of age, I look over the age of 25 (I'm much older than this) but was told I had to have ID regardless of my age, I could be 70 years old and have to provide ID according the her.Not happy having driven over 35 miles to come and get it to then have to go all the way back and return with ID.The email confirming my purchase didn't make it clear I needed ID regardless my age having not been asked for ID for over 10 years it was quite a supprise. If I could have bought else where I would have.

Click and collected a Ryobi saw to add to my collection of Ryobi power tools, went straight home and charged up the battery. After about and hour it was showing as charged but when I put it in the saw it didn't work. After double checking I put it in correctly (only fits one way) I tested the battery on my two drills and they worked fine. I call customer services and they told me the store had stock so just to take the saw back in and they would exchange it. So in good faith I grabbed the saw and fully charged battery so I could test new one before leaving the store. When I arrived at store after waiting a few minutes I was greated well and ask how they could help. I explained I had bought the item 2 hours earlier and after getting home and charging the battery it did not work. The lady asked what did I mean it didn't work, I replied it only has one function with one button when the button is pressed its ment to move back and forth like a saw and it doesn't. I was then asked where the charge was I said at home as that part isn't faulty I didn't bring it I don't need that part exchanging or the battery I know they both work I have already tested they with my other Ryobi power tools. I was told I would need to go home and get that and come back so they could take everything off me and give me a fully new one. I tried to explain I wanted to keep the battery as I'd already charged it and ask if they could just take the saw body out of the new one she was going to give me and put my faulty part back in the box then they would still have a full unit I didn't want anything extra from the box I just wanted the £120 saw to work. I was again told I would need to drive home and get the missing part then come back for an exchange. When I ask her to explain why I was told because that's to way it work, when I asked her to explain her logic I was told I had an attitude (maybe at that point I did I have worked in retail for 26 year 20 as a manager or area manager and I was appalled and shocked at the way I as the customer with a faulty product was being spoken to) at this point I thought let's speak to the manager and hope they are more reasonable however when I looked at her name badge I was truly speechless as she was in fact the manager. I tried again to resolve the problem but she was having none of it she had clearly made a decision before even speaking to me. It even got the the point where she felt the need to tell me I was not welcome in the store and should leave as she was not going to sever me and nore would she let any of the staff. I asked why and she replied with a classic retail BS "I can refuse to serve and customer at any time without reason" true she could even when she's in the wrong. While I sat down and called Customer services for the second time she walked round the store telling all staff not to help me this happened in front of at least 10 other customers and was feeling extremely embarrassed even though I was in the right and should have just been given a like for like exchange. In the end as I needed the saw to finish a job I when home and got the other part then took my wife back to get the exchange as I wasn't welcome (probably because she realised she was in the wrong). When my wife went in and was served by a young man ironically he was more than happy to process the exchange and only give us the saw body just like I had asked the manageress to do but yet she wouldn't.
I can honestly say thanks to the service level of the manageress I will never shop with Argos ever again, and I hope my review helps a few others to do the same. Good luck if you buy an item that goes faulty there is not option to leave less that 1 star if I could have it would have been a minus score, after forwarding the requested information on the reply I'm sorry to say the reply was almost as disappointing as the service in store

Absolutely shocking customer service from Argos Blackburn, raised a PayPal claim for a monitor that was damaged upon opening the box. Spoke to live chat and they said bring into store and they will exchange. Being Bank holiday I brought in today and the staff initially were willing to swap and went to check stock for an exchange. The manageress then came storming over and proceeded to unbox the item again. Claiming that I had clearly hit the screen and damaged if myself and just wanted a refund. I said that I had spoken already to Argos and sent pictures and they were happy for an indoor exchange. She was having non of it and said that she can over rule online customer services. This exchange was in front of a few customers and was very embarrassing. She haphazardly put the screen back in the box and said I would have to take it up with the manufacturer as it isn't possible to have been damaged before I received it. I asked what makes her so sure and she said she's never known it to have happened.Forward to another conversation with online customer service ( see image ) and they assure me that she should have exchanged no quibble. Again I showed this to staff and they said that once a manager has made a decision they won't back down and that I was trying to pull the wool over there eyes. Shocking behaviour from all staff involved and I would advise people to shop elsewhere where possible unless it's too good of a deal to miss - or pay via credit card and chargeback!I won't be using Argos for any electricals in the future

I got exactly what I wanted (not just the type of product but the precise make and model) and they let me use two separate gift cards towards the price. However, because Argos have made the ridiculous decision to stop using proper, paper catalogues it's such a pain in the testicles to browse whatever else they sell it's just not worth bothering looking to see if they sell anything else you might be interested in buying. In the past I have been known to often go into an Argos for something and leave having purchased 1 or more additional items. That won't ever be happening again unless the board of directors are afflicted by an outbreak of common sense. They must be losing sales as a result of their own 'head up rectal cavity' stupidity.

I was very impressed with this store today. After weeks trying to deal with Philips regarding their Philips Sonicare Airfloss which do not charge up I went to the store where I purchased it. I was sorted out by Victoria who was very polite and helpful. She was amazing. Thankyou Victoria x

Apparently once youve opened the box and you dislike the item you cannot return and grt a refund. Argos policy is an absolute digrace. How are you supposed to know if you like an item without opening the packaging? Never buy anything from here again. Go to currys or AO.com

Avoid shopping at this branch if there is any chance you need to return an item. I tried to return a electronic exercise mat that I'd bought on xmas eve as a spare of the moment gift. It hadn't been used only one part had been taken out to look at.I was told in the most abrupt manner that I would not be getting a refund as apparently there was signs of use! I explained several times that the item had not been used, but it was clear that this obnoxious young woman had made her mind up that no refund was being given and told me in a tone of a parent chastising that she would not discuss the matter further.Well Jemma! (so called manager) I did indeed get a refund from another store, from staff, who unlike yourself treated me as a customer and not a naughty little boy that needed a good telling off.I would agree with a previous review on here that Argos should retrain you in customer service skills, as God forbid you speak to someone else the way you did to me, who as less understanding of how difficult working in retail can be and they react in a bad way.
