Ann and Andy, absolutely amazing. Nothing was too much trouble me with my children on my own. They were so helpful to the point. They even helped cut food and peel apples. I would 100% recommend they made my morning breakfast. So much easier, thank you so much! Definitely looking forward to coming again.... on another note the food was great

No issue at all with food , service , staff or atmosphere but ?..
3 times this year we have arrived to have brunch or lunch here and 3 times it has been closed for business . The first time , there was a managers meeting ??? The second time was the day after a bank holiday , arrived to locked doors ! After much hammering on the door, we were told that you were not opening due to needing to deep clean the kitchen and short of food ???
The third time , having booked , door open , 2 women ( staff) sitting at a table , surprised to see us enter despite my booking , to be told they were only open at 12 for lunch . My booking was for 11:30 to catch the breakfast menu . It was an unfortunate reason for te delay but nevertheless , I had written in the comments box on the booking form , to please let me know if they were not going to be open . I am not finding this pub reliable as a meeting spot . 3 occasions in a short space of time does not inspire confidence .

I would have made this a five star review given service and food both excellent. We dined last night having a meal and also for breakfast this morning. Meals piping hot and were delicious. Roebuck is a lovely country pub with pleasant decor.
However must comment my wife and I felt sorry for the staff particularly at breakfast who all were doing an exemplary job while obvious under staffing clearly is an issue.
I praised Chloe at breakfast because she was only staff member on duty and she was so helpful and efficient. We wondered why there were a notice stating no food will be available in Roebuck pub on Saturday and turns ofut there is no dedicated chef at the moment so pub has to utilise chefs from other establishments in the area.
Management should be mindful given a business is built on reputation and service and without decent staff a business is not worthwhile or deserving of custom.
Roebuck needs more staff.

Arrived for breakfast and was warmly welcomed by Ann our server. Everything looked delicious and was well laid out.
Full English breakfast was absolutely fantastic and arrived quickly.
Did notice a family come in at the end of service but Ann and Jenny in the kitchen still managed to accommodate the late comers. This shows fantastic team work.

Very disappointed with coming here numerous times for both breakfasts and dinner we come in this morning to be spoken to like utter crap saying we can't pay cash and we've got to have a fixed breakfast but the lady's attitude and sighing when she demanded card i said no cash please and looked at me like I had 3 heads very very disappointed as it was our go to place for a break out

Dreadful experience twice. We were staying at a near by hotel as travelled from Yorkshire to visit friends. Met at the Roebook had a drink and ventured to some nearby pubs and the plan was to end the evening with a quiet bottle of fizz back at the roebook later that evening. We got their at 22:06 to be told they were closed as it was Sunday. I did point out the wensite stated 11 but we were refused enrty. They wouldn't even allow us to buy a bottle of fizz to take with us. Very poor service and not great closing so much earlier than advertised. The next morning came breakfast. It has to be the worst service and experience in a long time. I asked for fresh coffee as the coffee I poured from the self serv flask was cold. When handed the fresh flask I was asked if I had tried the other flask before asking. I said no to which the waitress replied so I might not have had to make this then! Just rude and unprofessional to expect guests to try and find a jug of coffee hot enough to drink. Check them and refill accordingly, it wasn't even busy. Then came the breakfast, swimming in grease, pale bacon and a sausage you could barely cut into it was that hard on the outside and luke warm beans at best. Never again!

The food Quality used to be excellent, But the meal we had yesterday. I have had better Fish and Chips from a chip shop for half the price. The Onion rings and chip on my wife's meal were overdone. We were Really disappointed.

I asked for a cloth so that I could clean the bar (the coins I was counting out had stuck to the unwiped sticky surface). The response: it's a problem with the varnish.
I hadn't noticed the windowsill of dead flies and other caked insect corpses until a disgruntled diner mentioned it.
An hour later the uncleared half eaten remains of meals and glasses remained on adjacent tables as I left.
It's a great location and cosy ambience. What a shame it is so shabily managed.

Beth and Rachel S were fantastic! Considering we only saw two people working all evening the food was brilliant and the beers were flowing. What seriously let the whole experience down was the attitude of a lot of the (possibly hotel guest) customers. Completely undeserved and vile treatment of the staff.
We witnessed one man being served food, who didn't even bother to look up from his phone and the lovely Rachel still continued to make sure he had all he needed and was so nice and polite.
Staff like these 2 ladies are just so rare to find these days and they should be credited for their amazing work ethic and fantastic customer service skills!
Fantastically accommodating to me and my wife.
