Shockingly bad really.. Took 45 minutes for a sandwich and a slice of toast. No apologies about the wait when it arrived. To be fair there was a sign saying there was a 45 minute wait, but I queried this and was told it could be around 30 minutes, but that they couldn't imagine a sandwich would take that long.
When the sandwich finally arrived, it was missing the ham. Asked for and received a refund.
Price was, very expensive for what it was, even if there was ham involved!
Plus side was the location.

Always had some nice food here so booked the afternoon tea, sandwiches wasn't very nice tbh, salmon was awful, bread wasn't fresh, usually afternoon tea has no crust and the rectangular style sandwich, so not up to much for the price, we'll still come for a meal to the main restaurant though, won't be put of by the afternoon tea

After being completely surprised by how lovely the garden centre was, we were utterly disappointed by the food at the restaurant. Overpriced, tasteless, under seasoned and none of us finished any of the dishes. I will definitely not visit again.

Went for a coffee and cake .. I had hot chocolate which was barely warm and a chocolate cake that was extremely dry. Extremely overpriced I would not recommend. Save your money and go to Aldi for a decent cake instead !

Very overpriced vs the quality of the food. Don?t mind paying good money for good food.
Frozen roast potatoes and a very dry pie
Cookie was stale
Lovely garden centre but poor quality cafe

What's happening with the Afternoon Tea at the Willows Restaurant? Is someone on a cost cutting drive? Usually there is so much food that you need a Take Home box but this time there was just enough....3 1/4 sliced sandwiches, small cup of soup...no pie or sausage roll, a scone, butter, jam and cream and 4 tiny cakes...y friend ate everything but one tiny cake. I asked for a box for my scone simply because I was too busy chatting to eat. I didn't think it was worth £16....an Afternoon Tea is supposed to be a sumptuous feast...it used to be. Quite disappointed. I'll be going to Scorton Barn in future and paying £18...for that you get tons. Staff absolutely lovely, everything tasted lovely but it felt a bit sparse

Called at Barton Grange for the farm shop and coffee and cake. Cakes were spot on with plenty of choice, cafe was clean and good atmosphere but the coffee was OUT OF A MACHINE SELF SERVICE FOR GOODNESS SAKE. While I'm having a moan, the farm shop was very disappointing compared to how it was pre covid. Lot of pre packed food. Would I go back? If I was passing maybe but it wouldn't be a destination.

Sunday lunch at the Riverside Cafe. Plenty to choose from including a good vegetarian selection and generous servings of veg to accompany, including creamed cabbage which is fab.Adequate seating to cope with demand, plus attentive staff keeping everything clean and tidy.If this review was helpful, please be kind enough to click the button below

Not a great visit. Busy and maybe understaffed. Took a long time to order but I get that they probably need to stagger the orders when busy. Had a filter coffee which wasn't great. Vegetarian breakfast ok but eggs undercooked on top - no one wants a snotty egg!

well it was our first visit to the willow restaurant as we normally go in the riverside cafe me and my father in law both got sausage and mash my wife got steak panini and wedges which she enjoyed the sausage and mash looked great when it came the sausage was beautiful and the vegetables and gravy was lovely but the mash potatoes were an absolute let down and to be honest i?d be embarrassed serving packet mash potatoes yes you read it SMASH!!!!!! and to charge £18.50 for it if it had been real mash potatoes i?d have no bother

Having received an afternoon tea voucher for two as a gift, I booked in the Willows restaurant for the Festive Afternoon tea for two. Having experienced a range of afternoon teas in numerous cafes, hotel?s & restaurants over the years, this has to rate as one of the poorest yet. The three sandwiches were such poor quality with cheap, limp white sliced bread for two of them, no side salad/ crisps or garnish of any sort. The scone was dry & the cakes/ pastries were tiny uninspired offerings. For £16 the tea was overpriced and such a let down. When the tea was served it was plonked on the table with no explanation of what flavour the soup was or the range of desserts on offer. At no point did any member of staff come over to see if everything was ok. I always tip for good food & service but felt on this occasion nothing was deserving of anything extra. I was just thankful that I hadn?t paid for this poor excuse of afternoon tea & the gift card covered the cost. It seemed the sort of establishment that the personal touches & attention to detail wasn?t of any great importance, relying on the coach loads of day trippers to what always appears to be an overrated & overpriced destination. I?m afraid there are far better independent & much better quality cafes & eateries to visit than here.

Wow what a nice surprise! We ate in the riverside cafe and had the cheese & onion pie with veg, we wasn?t expecting much from it for £10.50, but it was one of the best ?roasts? I?ve eaten out! By far better than any carvery I?ve been too. The cakes looked amazing as well, such a large choice! To top it off you?ve got a gorgeous view of a river whilst eating and drinking coffee, 10/10 recommend and will definitely be returning.

Just need to thank staff member Loren who served me one Tuesday. She noticed I had the little one in the pram and offered to carry my tray for me after ordering hot food. She then got me a drink too, waited while I paid and took me over to a free table. Just very kind, I wasn't expecting it! So thanks Loren :)Vegetarian options: The vegan nut roast was great, can be purchased from the farm shop too
