We had lunch on Saturday- 1st time we’d been in for years! Great service from friendly smiling staff. Lovely food served quickly at very reasonable prices- we will definitely be back.

Very nice old thatched pub and pleasantly refurbished. The staff were very courteous and the food was lovely when it arrived ,a slight mix up with one of the orders but that was ok although it did take a while to come,I think it might be best to advice that there maybe a wait then customers know.

Called in for lunch 8/8/25 My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our food, the service and the atmosphere was great, dogs welcome too, Bailey our spaniel came along too.
This beautiful thatched roof pub is a grade II listed building and dates back to 1616 when it was a coaching house known as The Black Horse. An unusual feature of the building is the set of four mounting steps at the front left side. Typically there are only three mounting steps found on most buildings. They were used to assist in mounting a horse but are seldom used nowadays!
In addition to the usual range of draught and bottled beers you might expect to find, we also have a good range of cask ales.
