Advertised everywhere as being open on a Monday from 12 noon. Arrived on Monday 8th Jan by taxi at 12.20pm and spotted an A- frame outside, suggesting it was open. It was not. Looking through the window, it was clearly not anywhere near opening and was deserted. I rang, but got no answer, so I left a message to say I was very unhappy to discover the pub was closed, even though all advertising stated it was open. Let's hope they at least update their website etc, as this spoilt our plans and cost us extra for a taxi to find an alternative venue.

Could not fault the waitress who served us and the food. The Manager completely ruined our New Year's Eve dinner. His attitude was absolutely disgraceful, I don't even want to go into the reasons why they were so shocking. Even more shocking was another staff member was getting ready in the restaurant to go out somewhere after which included straightening her hair. This is where people are still eating. I eat out regularly and in my 60 years i have never experienced this. Griffins Head... what on earth have you become since Simon and Rachel managed the place?

Absolutely fantastic meal. Lovely warm welcome and seated quickly. We ordered drinks and food which arrived piping hot and was one of the best Sunday dinners I?ve had. The service was superb. Not my first visit to The Griffin but my first review. I can?t fault it and the food is always brilliant.

Staff were rude and far to clever. Food was bog standard but waitress seems to find it amusing that after we ordered the mains that they were no longer available. We'll certainly not be rushing back here. Staff training needs to be updated.

We booked lunch here for 12pm and were one if the first there. It took about 20 minutes to get our first drinks as they only had one woman taking orders running the bar and serving food. It took almost 2 hours for our food to come and when it came, my mother and I had to send it back as it was cold. Both my adult sons food was cold too but they were too hungry to send it back. Our food came back after a minute and was soggy as is had been microwaved. My partner ordered a steak medium but it was extremely well done as well. As a family, we very rarely get to eat out together as money is tight. We were really looking forward to it. When paying, I explained our experience and they still charged full price. Griffin's head isn't cheap at all and paying for food and a poor experience that isn't great is awful. If they know that they don't have the staff to cater for a full pub, they shouldn't be taking more orders or at least warn customers that it will take a couple of hours for food to come out. That way we could have gone elsewhere. We won't be returning and I'm sure the group of elderly ladies across from us who arrived at the same time won't either. They still hadn't received their food when we were leaving!

We went tonight for a family members birthday. The service was just as shocking as the food. The Chef came to the table and was extremely rude when we stated what was wrong with our meals. Firstly three meals were returned as they were cold and then blasted in the microwave. One of the family members ordered a fillet steak cooked medium which it clearly wasn?t, the chef cut the steak down the middle and sent back out demanding it was medium.. it was not!! A mixed grill was that cold it wasn?t touched at all. The way this was handled by the staff members including the owner/chef was disgraceful. We paid in full and left. We will most definitely not be returning! Staff training and manners need to be addressed immediately! Very disappointed?

Competitively priced, good staff, parcel drop off and collection. Quick service and friendly staff. Jet wash and tire pump on site. Open 24 hours. Can't complain.

What a beautiful steak and sauce all made fresh. The lamb ciabatta was to die for, crispy chips and the landlord so down to earth that it ws a great meet up place from work on a Friday. Down to earth and yummy cuisine. Great for Xmas dues

We visited yesterday looking to have a good Sunday roast .We have been to almost every pub that serves Sunday lunch in the Accrington, Padiham, and Hapton area and to be honest we weren't totally wowed with what we got however, yesterday was a triumph. Hubby had the roast beef and I had the chicken supreme roast dinners and they were both lovely .The waitress offered great service and the lager was spot on also. I think we've found our go to for great good , service and drink and all at a very reasonable price .

We had been to Accrington and checking the time noticed we had well passed lunch time. Probably why I felt so hungry. We agreed the next pub we saw which sold food we would stop at. Hence we came across The Griffins Head. From the outside I was not thinking wow this looks gorgeous but on entering it was a completely different scene. Really nice modern decor with a mix of old I personally would say. The lady at the bar was extremely welcoming, felt like we had been going in all our lives. Food was absolutely excellent. Chicken burger was actually a full breast. My burger which was a beef burger was really juicy. Great food. If we lived near there it would definitely be a place I would eat often in. Maybe we need another day out from Bolton. Well done chef.

My son wanted to give this place a try so we booked a pre-footy match dinner on Saturday night. I took my Burnley mad grandson along too. It did not disappoint, the venue is very well appointed, the drinks and food are excellent, service is great and prices reasonable. I like it! Brnley lost 1-0 to Manchester United but the dinner helped make up for the loss. Three of us had steak dinners and each plate was cooked to order and were pretty much perfect. What's not to like?
