We booked The Boat House two days in advance to celebrate my daughter?s birthday with a table of 8 people. Unfortunately, the experience was quite disappointing. When we arrived, we discovered they only had two beef steaks available, even though six of us wanted to order steak. To make it worse, there were no other beef options on the menu. My partner ended up ordering fish and chips instead, but what came out was a ham and egg dish ? something he didn?t even order.
On a positive note, the waiters were great ? polite, attentive, and clearly doing their best. I had mentioned in the reservation that it was my daughter?s birthday, and they kindly wrote ?Happy Birthday? on her brownie and added a candle, which was a thoughtful touch.
However, the lack of preparation in the kitchen, especially for a booking made in advance for 8 people, is not acceptable for a place like this. It was very disappointing to find the restaurant unable to serve what is supposed to be one of their main dishes. Better organisation and stock management are really needed.

Hadn?t been here for a few years but the return was a success albeit on a bank holiday it was busy as to be expected. Happily return again soon now

I went to the boathouse yalding with my mum and dad and my sister mollie today for my dads birthday lunch today
For lunch there I had a burger and with my burger I had some chicken and chips
And the chicken and chips were very tasty and super delicious
The food there is super good
We got a lovely view of the water from where we?re sitting outside
As we got a table outside as it was a very lovely warm sunny day today which was very lovely
The music that was playing was very lovely today
Lovely choice of music lovely and relaxing and chilled
The staff that work there are very kind and friendly at the boathouse yalding
The service is amazing and super good
I had a very lovely first experience there today at the boathouse yalding with my mum dad and my sister mollie
This place gets it?s first 5 out of 5 star rating by me

Lovely fish and chips and a good selection of drinks, including non alcoholic beer. Not too busy even on a hot summer evening.

Nice location AWFUL, OVERPRICED FOOD!!!
Had lunch there today (Sunday 10th August). Sat outside overlooking the river under the sun which was so nice. Ordered the mushroom Burger with chips at £15.50 but the ASDA's own brand mushroom burger has more flavour. It was bland, dry and the chips were the cheapest frozen kind you can get and a really small portion. I will not be returning here again.
Shame the food is such poor quality as the location is perfect.

This a great place to stop for food after a little paddle up the river. Best to book a table before hand if the weather is nice.

A lovely friendly pub with great professional service food was a little expensive but was good quality and had a great atmosphere highly recommend for a visit when in the area
