Our waiter was decent and made us feel attended to throughout, but a member of the staff made a flippant comment about our party that made us all uncomfortable and killed the whole mood.
food took best part of an hour to arrive and was underwhelming for a town with so many food options.

Highly recommend. Excellent quality ingredients used. We had the sword fish, the burger and the chicken souvlaki. Very pleased with our meals and great service. Will be coming again.

Lovely food warm and friendly staff we sat on the terrace. I had muscles husband had the steak both really good. Nice selection of food and drinks. Would go again.

We went to the Rock Lodge for our anniversary, we had a truly great time. Food was very good although it could have been a bit warmer. The music and ambience was wonderful!
It was quite, but I guess it was midweek. The only negatives for me were the food should have been warmer and when getting the bill we'd been charged £33 extra for a second bottle of wine that we didn't have, hense the 4 stars and not 5 because of the food not being hot enough and the mistake on the bill. Maybe a bit over critical! Overall we will go back!

Food ?. Chicken and waffles had me straight away and did not disappoint. Brilliant venue, brilliant team and amazing food! Well worth a visit!!

Absolutely amazing place. Best loaded fries I have ever eaten!
Service staff were very friendly, helpful and welcoming.
Friendly atmosphere and fun vibes.
Place was clean and tidy.
I only wish you could sit on the terrace to drink, not just eat.
But Absolutely one of the best places I've been to in a seaside town.

Great cosy casual feel in a quirky ski lidge setting.
Greeted by friendly staff and shown upstairs to our table.
Tables nicely spaced apart.
Delicious juicy Sirloin of beef served with lots of vegetables for our Sunday roast.
Look forward to returning.

We like the Rock Lodge. Saturday night was the third time we've eaten there, but the experience was a disappointment.
The menu has not changed, at all, since our last visit 6 weeks previously. It might not have mattered had all main course choices been available, but 3 choices were unavailable.
The thing that left the poorest impression, though, was the presentation of the bill. I do not like being charged up-front to hold my table, but accept that in today's world it may be a necessary evil. If a restaurant is going to use such tactics it is ESSENTIAL that the amount is deducted from the final bill. On Saturday night it was not and then when I asked for it to be deducted, the mistake was acknowledged immediately, but the process to adjust my bill, which I had paid by card, was opaque (probably the fault of the payment provider).

Visited bank holiday Monday with family. Such a great set up, friendly and relaxed. Food was lovely, 100% recommend!

Pros: The incredibly lovely staff (big thank you to Aran who was just so lovely and helpful), the venue is nice and offers live music, doggy friendly (only downstairs) and reasonably priced.
The only downside to this restaurant/ pub is the food. Aran dud explain that the chef was off sick so this could have had something to do with it. Also advise them to drop the obsession of using balsamic glaze. Literally on everything. Soup of the day OK but over seasoned, prawn cocktail was average, pate was below average and the sausage and mash was inedible (watery mash, odd looking water/ fatty liquid that was meant to be gravy).
Would however return for drinks and because the staff were just so awesome.

Really gone down hill since last year. Fish and chips were poor quality and mussles were not even open. Then to be told they would only do a partial refund. Avoid the food like the plague.
