The Hungry Guest owes our company nearly £1000 and is refusing to reply to emails or telephone call.

Me and my wife came here probably about a year ago and the breakfast was amazing, we used to live in west malling.....today we thought we would return for a breakfast as a treat before we carried out one of the local walks .
It's not cheap ...two breakfasts and two hot drinks will set you back easily over £30 .
Firstly the thing I don't agree with is the card machine asks you for gratuity before you have even received your drink never mind food ! .
Then the food turned up , the fried eggs over cooked, no choice given as I prefer poached, the edges frilly and dry, toast was brown , didn't get a option , the bacon was the worst I've ever seen .....I mean it takes 3 /4 minutes to cook bacon , this looked and tasted like it was cooked yesterday, I couldn't even swallow it ,the sausages were tiny ....half the size I remember and they were cold and dry .
I mean come on guys , we all know anyone can cook a decent breakfast at home , so why serve up this awful over cooked and pre cooked food at premium price ?
Very poor quality, I've been annoyed all day and I'm £32 down ......I would have told you face but no one bothered to ask if our food was ok .
What has happened to this place ?

It?s called the Hungry Guest for a reason??You?ll be hungry after visiting as a guest.
Dimly lit, curt staff and tiny portions. Huge plates though but poorly filled. I wish I?d check the reviews before I ordered.
My pic is of the ?English Breakfast? but unlike everywhere else tea and toast is extra. Looks like child?s portion doesn?t it ?
You?d never believe that miniature portion cost a tenner ???.
The Mrs asked for the fried eggs on the smashed avocado on sour dough to be changed to scrambled. The answer was a flat ?No?.
Never again, don?t waste your money

The five of us visited for a late breakfast today. The food was ok, but not what we expected. The two full English breakfasts arrived without the eggs which I guess is an easy mistake to make. The other food was ok, fairly standard stuff. The price was the real kicker though, £10 for the breakfast felt like the right amount (even £12 would have been ok) but that doesn't include toast. We added hash browns and beans and toast, bringing the price for the full English up to around £16 per breakfast. It felt like a lot for what you actually got. I feel bad for saying it because spending £16 on a breakfast isn't a problem but it just didn't feel like a £16 breakfast. Positives, the coffee was good and the lady who served us was polite and friendly. The building is lovely and a pleasant place to be, parking directly outside for 1 hour free. Would I come back, yes probably but it wouldn't be a first choice and sadly businesses, especially local independents should be striving for repeat custom.

Honestly, the worst breakfast I've ever had - I was so disappointed!!! I arrived very hungry so I ate what I could tolerate. The sausage arrived butterflied (assuming to make the plate look fuller) it was dry, the flavour was herby with grains or something - when leaving I approached the staff to check it was meat as it tasted very strange to me. The egg was over cooked but still slimy, bacon was also overcooked - not in a good crispy way but dry and chewy non fresh way. The toast was an extra, as you can see barely toasted.
The staff were not attentive, did not come and clear the plates or ask how the food was. I'm sure that's because when we left our plates were still half full. In addition, one staff member kept singing - unfortunately it was awful however either way unacceptable noise over the ambient music.

Popped in yesterday for the best coffee I've ever had. My partner and I always prefer to support a small business over the big chains, especially the one on the West Malling high street :-)

I love going here. Food is always fresh and the waitresses always friendly.

1st and last time visiting.
Staff are extremely rude. We walked in asking for a table for 4 people with a pram, they told us to sit by the window which was a table set for 2 people and told us to ?pull a chair over and not block the walkway with the pram? considering there was a lot of space around us and only one other party in there it was unlikely we were going to block the walkway for anyone. We sat down (squeezed on a small table) with two members of staff quite clearly pulling faces, it didn?t appear they wanted us in there. Maybe they are against children in the restaurant, we are not sure but it wasn?t a nice, welcoming experience. We quickly left before ordering and will not be returning.

Top quality food and lovely friendly staff to match

Unfortunately 1st and last time I will visit this place.
Breakfast for £10 (sounds good right) doesn't include toast, only bacon, sausage, egg and a tomato....A extra cost of £2 for 2 slices of toast which may as well be bread as it wasn't toasted properly (You can buy a loaf of bread for that).
Overall...Massive plate with a small amount of food spread to make it look like there was more food , eggs were overcooked, sausage tasted like a beef burger, bacon overcooked and too hard....The atmosphere wasn't great either as staff member was singing like a cat had been murdered, which isn't what I want to experience when all I want is a decent breakfast in a quiet environment.

Very quiet inside, no atmosphere at all. The service wasn?t great. We had to chase the staff twice for a meal that they missed off our order and milk for our coffees. Online it says there?s a kids menu, there isn?t. You have to creat your own and every item of food is £2+
The food portions are very small yet served on such a large plate. Eggs were over cooked and no option of changing how you?d like them done. Such a shame as it?s not your cheap builders cafe.

Visited for breakfast on Father?s Day. Good selection on the menu for both sweet and savoury. But as other reviews, quite expensive for what you get.
Toast not as standard on a traditional breakfast, or beans. All added extras which is disappointing.
Taste of the food was brilliant and the breakfast stack was superb

I?ve been here a few times, I love the places, interior design.
But we have always had mixed feelings, there was always one of us dissatisfied with a cooked breakfast.
This morning we went there @ 10am for coffees and croissants. The coffees were nice, but the whole experience was not!
We didn?t want to make a fuss, but we were horrified to be given Stale old plain and almond croissants.
My friend left half of her plain croissants as it was extremely dry, i managed to get through thanks to the drying almond paste.
It?s clear, they assume customers are stupid?
They charge full price, but sadly don?t give fresh croissants? Which they charge for!!!
We left absolutely disappointed.
Sadly we cannot recommend this place!!!
I don?t think we will be going there again, sadly.
