Very awful experience. The size of the room was good, however dirty floors, dirty bath. Pieces of hair In the bed and dirty picture on the wall Put me off so I I went to ask the person at the reception but she was very unhelpful. It was that bad for me. I went home on the same day as I was meant to stay for a couple nights.

Very old building full of dirty carpets
Heating on full blast even though it?s 17 degrees out there
Every step that people taken upstairs was a cricking noise in our room. The people under us must?ve thought the same
You have to pay for parking if you find any
Terrible excuse of a hotel

The old Wellington Hotel, which I'm sure was very grand. Now a Travelodge. Very creaky floorboards, impossible not to make a noise. Room very hot. The bath had a dirty tide mark which we had to complain about, the bathroom door handles just fallen off! Wallpaper falling off the staircase wall. Paid £15 for three days parking, day 2 and no spaces, suspect day 3 will be the same.

Disabled access is in itself DISABLED.. as in . The steps lift is in situ but I?m doubtful serviced in th last couple of years. Or useable for the last twelve month. I could be wrong. But I would video call & witness a member of staff using the equipment prior to setting off. Beautiful character building. Lovely and warm. No draughts either. ??

Originally booked for one night but decided a few days before to make a weekend of it so called the hotel to amend our booking.
There was some confusion about the change when we booked in but this seemed to be resolved quickly.
Our room was ok but the bath was dirty and the shower which on spat out cold water had black mould on it.
Room far too hot and was unable to open the window more than a few inches.
When we returned on our second night we found all our things shoved into our bags dirty clothes in amongst clean
Our hangers were taken. I feel my privacy has been violated.
When we spoke to reception they insisted we had only booked for one night. I?ve been told the manager will call us tomorrow. To top it off breakfast was cold. Completely ruined an otherwise lovely weekend.

On arrival the was 1 member of staff on reception, she also was the only member of staff covering the bar to. Nice girl but run off her feet. Hotel as a whole needs a good overhaul.. Room very small for money but clean. Breakfast finishes at 11 got there 10.15 hardly anything left and what was was dried up. Again for cost it was rubbish. I had to go to reception to ask for more food and waited 25 minutes to eat while the others at my table were ready to leave.
Rooms: Very small basic but clean
Nearby activities: Good pub accross the road
Walkability: 10min walk up hill
Food and drinks: Poor breakfast. Lack of cooked food and all dried out
Noteworthy details: Not worth it you even pay for parking

Not your normal purpose built Travel Lodge. This one is an old Edwardian home rather on the large side. It's looking very tired, and doesn't get much better when you go inside. Old carpets, creeping floor boards and very drab decor are the order of the day here. My bedroom was somewhat dirty, although bed linen was clean and well presented.
Rooms: Rather drab decor throughout. My bedroom was not very clean, with debris on a carpet needing a long overdue hoovering. But the bed linen was clean and comfortable.
Food and drinks: Quite a good selection of hot food from the kitchen. Breakfast selection pretty good and English breakfast in plentiful supply.
Noteworthy details: Reception and kitchen staff seem to be doing their best but a difficult venue to manage for sure. Not one of Travel Lodge's success stories.

Rooms: Don't get room on the lower ground, the Internet reception is low and you then have to pay for WiFi

Food not great. Room was cold when we arrived no heating on they had to reset the boiler so the heating worked. Stayed at a few travelodges this is not definitely one of the greatest unfortunately. I will not book here again.
Nearby activities: Shops 10 minutes away

Falling apart as a building, paid wifi, paid parking, front desk won't help you with any requests, they give you a phone number to call, charged at 13 pounds a minute. By the time you're informed over the phone about it, you'll have already paid one pound in extra charges on your phone bill. Imagine having to actually solve a problem and spend 10 minutes over the phone about it.
There are many other reasons that make this hotel an awful place to spend time into: low water pressure, toilets can't be flushed properly, no toilet brush, ... kettles are dirty, don't use them.
I recommend going to Mercure hotel, it might cost you a few pounds more, but wifi and parking are free, and it looks waaay better than Travelodge!

Rooms vary from small to large but same price, have to PAY AS YOU GO WiFi, paper thin walls so don't expect a good night's sleep, you could hear a mouse fart

TRAVELODGE TUNBRIDGE WELLS
The Travelodge Tunbridge Wells at Mount Ephraim has a rich history. Originally built in 1873 as a terrace of eight houses, it was converted into a hotel in 1876. It is situated in an excellent location, providing easy access to shops, bars, and the central town. Over the years, it has had several names, including the Wellington Hotel, Periquitos, and the Wellington again, before becoming a Travelodge. The building is a Grade II listed building, reflecting its historical significance.
The building, especially the frontal part, looks very impressive, though there are parking restrictions. The reception, lounge, and bar are decent enough. Some rooms are spacious and comfortable, while others are not as sizable. There are fundamental issues with the overall package. When booking on the website, it initially shows £29, but the price dramatically changes to between £49 and £69 before checkout, which feels misleading and tricky. The wide margin from £29 to £49 is concerning.
Additional concerns include noisy and creaking wooden floors under the carpet. The staff makes a noticeable effort to keep guests comfortable, which is commendable, but it highlights underlying negligence in the facility's management. Some rooms offer clean and comfortable single or double beds, cozy duvets, fresh white towels, and free Wi-Fi, although you have to pay £3 per day for Wi-Fi after a few minutes (which other public places offer for free). Ensuite bathrooms come with showers and complimentary hand, hair, and body wash, though some bathrooms have leaking or broken soap/body wash dispensers. Ground floor rooms are available for wheelchair access.
Hospitality needs improvement at this establishment. I have yet to try their food, but I am cautious. However, they do offer a cooked breakfast with items from the grill, pastries from the bakery, and Lavazza coffee. Another positive aspect is the availability of coffee and tea in the rooms. This hotel has the potential to be much better and urgently needs an overhaul, including management changes, to realize its full potential.
