I will never return to this branch of Next. I had to write this review as we are incredibly upset from the treatment we experienced from a member of staff there today. My husband and I were both shopping for new outfits, going to and from the men's to the women's sections looking at the clothes. The only fitting room we saw was located in the womens section and was not named as a 'female' fitting room in the signage so we assumed it was the only fitting room they had and it was unisex. There are unisex fitting rooms in many clothing stores so we thought nothing of it. After my husband had finished trying on clothes, a member of staff approached us and told us that she had had a complaint from a customer that my husband was in there. With a disgusted, judgemental look and not politely she told us that he shouldnt be in there as there was a mens fitting room and he should have been using that one instead. I apologised and, utterly embarrassed, I tried to explain our error, that we thought it was a unisex fitting room and explained why. The member of staff was extremely cold and very rude in her response, saying that nobody else had ever made that mistake before, which left us feeling stupid. When mentioning the signage and it just saying fitting room, she dismissed my point by saying that she didnt make the sign herself. She was impersonable and wasn't acknowledging my attempt of an apology at all, instead she was incredibly stern and abrupt and we felt as if we had done something truly awful. We left there feeling like criminals and very upset. Upon reflection, her treatment of us was extremely unjust and unfair Just because there was a customer complaint, caused by there being a lack of signage and non existent fitting room attendants, does not make it our fault and definitely doesn't justify the way we were spoken to. We are just a middle-aged married couple and we have never been treated like this before.
Are the fitting rooms single sex? There are no signs to say that they are and to be spoken to in the derogatory, unforgiving, non-empathic way that we were is totally unacceptable and utterly shocking and we do not wish to experience that kind of service again. It was not just bad customer service but actually offensive and we were left a little shaken by it.
*EDIT.. I have since learned from Head office that all Next fitting rooms are unisex. Shame the staff didn't know that*

Went in hoping to find matching accessories for MOB outfit, found a bag that worked perfectly but no shoes to match. Asked Jo if they had shoes to go with the bag and although she said not in store she spent a considerable amount of time helping me look online to see if we could find something suitable. Unfortunately its very hard to tell on a computer screen if something will match so we had to give up but I was really impressed with the effort Jo went to to try and help me.

NEXT is a clothing and accessory brand located in The Royal Victoria Place. It's a welcoming environment to shop in, though the helpfulness of the attendants leaves something to be desired. For men who love good clothes, NEXT offers a decent selection, albeit somewhat limited. I particularly like their perfumes, espadrilles, and polo shirts, but the ties and cufflinks seem a bit lackluster. The selection of shirts and suits/jackets is not bad either.
The women's clothing section is more extensive than the men's, and they also have a well-stocked children's section, which is an excellent strategy. The pastel-colored t-shirts, especially the pink and green ones, are standouts for me and will likely bring me back to NEXT. Lastly, their pricing is quite reasonable.

I wouldn't advise to shop or work in this store. Or for this company in general. It's run by the companies head office so everything you hear, see and touch has no personality. Just robots repeating what ever head office makes them say.

I've enjoyed being able to share my experience of the places I've visited. It's given me a lot of satisfaction, and allowed me to express myself in ways that I normally can't. The ability to share photos with people, and for them to appear in Google maps is enjoyable, and, hopefully, useful to others. Whilst I doubt that all my posts are shared by others visiting a place, they are honest for the experience i had.
