We were visiting RTWells so popped into Costa, late in the day. Some of tables had already been cleaned and there were on top of tables, not an issue as plenty of other tables, but if staff can clean here why not the toilets. Staff member very friendly, polite, service was quick, no wait and I could understand the staff member as she spoke English ! Drinks to a good standard. First impressions of counter area were good. Sat in window seat, on low table with more comfortable chairs, I then noticed how dirty the fabric on these seats were on the arm rests, ingrained dirt was shocking. I?m well aware of the footfall in such establishments but these needed cleaning or disposing of. Other areas need attention re decor etc. I visited the toilet which if I had visited before my drink, I would have left. It was shocking. I don?t envy the staff who have to clean these areas and the design should be such they could hose / mop which then goes into a plug hole on floor maybe but this was awful.I think many costas are tired these days and I will make more of an effort to go to an independent place.
