I have been to this restaurant serveral times for business meeting, i went this week and ordered a steak , i asked for medium rare , the outside was burnt and inside was well done. i didn't complain at the time because the person i was with was paying the bill, it wasnt cheap at £35.00. i rang the restaurant and was told he will make the chief aware, because he didnt show any concern i told he should tell the chief to learn how to cook steak. there was no concern and also i came out of the resaurent and found my car had a big scratch down the side, not a good day

I had a carvery on Sunday 6th July. The vegetables were hard and the food wasn?t very hot. I hardly touched my dinner which was very disappointing as I had met my cousins for lunch. We had come from London and certainly would not go there again.

Unfortunately went there for lunch today for a special occasion and had the carvery. The meat was lovely but the roast potatoes were rock hard and dry and so was the the carrots and stuffing very disappointing considering the high price

Great hotel with excellent staff, fantastically calm, quiet rooms and a dream breakfast. The parking is easy and convenient too.

What a place! What a family! After having had a long drive down from the Lake District to attend an interview at another hotel only to arrive and find it closed and nobody answering the phone we turned around and started to head home in the hope of finding somewhere to put our heads down. We searched on Google and found this gem of a place. Initially stopped for some food but decided to ask if they had any rooms available as it wasnt showing any availability on Booking.com. They sorted us out with a lovely clean, quiet double with a comfy bed and fabulous shower. We ate our evening meal (can recommend the stroganoff and the steak) went to crash. Had a great sleep, woke refreshed and after meeting more of the family at breakfast, which was also great, it set us up for the long drive back up north. We can only thank you once again for helping us out last minute. We will definitely be calling again if back in the area.
