Took my family here last year. Nursing home-style Sunday roast for £13. Ordered lamb but they brought me beef. Grey, overcooked, awful. Veg was straight from the microwave. Parsnips smelt like old cooking oil. Ordered pizza for my son from the kids' menu. It was one of those 5inch pizzas that you can buy in the supermarket and cook in the microwave from frozen. Lazy chef. When the bill came they tried to charge £9.95 for the pizza. Gobsmacked. They brought it down to £5 when I questioned it, still overpriced. Staff were pleasant (they didn't ask if everything was OK presumably because they already knew the answer). If you want a decent roast avoid this place! (And owner: I don't have the wrong pub so I can only assume you have since changed the menu/chef which can only be a good thing).

Since the change of owners it has lost its country pub charm.
Waited at the bar for 10 min for someone to even notice me (pub had maybe 15 people there, only me and 1 more person at bar). When the lady came out and finally served, she was giving out why this other person who was supposed to man the bar wasn't there.
We used to go to West End Tavern for meal quit often, it was pub of our choice. Not any more ?

Lovely village pub with really nice bar staff. Sadly learnt that it was their last weekend and that it would be changing hands. However service friendly and warm. Food although basic was good and priced well. Wishing the leaving staff well for the future.

We hadn't been to the West End Tavern for ages, but chose to go on a quiet Tuesday night. We had a lovely time, the staff were so friendly. We even took our dog who was treated to a bowl of snacks and water. The food was basic pub grub, but well cooked and not pretentious at all. It was well priced unlike so many other establishments we have been to recently. And the beer was well kept, Timothy Taylors. The wine was excellent and again reasonably priced. We'll be back.
