Avoid! Bait and switch eye appointment - they book you in without telling you at the time of booking that you will have an appointment over a computer with an optician in Birmingham or some far flung place. Quite impersonal. Pretty sad that the staff can?t see this is the first step in losing their jobs to complete automation - if it can be done by computer Specsavers will view that there is absolutely no need for them at all very shortly. This is a shame as it makes it a very impersonal company to deal with - I really rather like speaking to a real live human rather than someone based I don?t know where over a screen.

Worst service ever!
Had phoned and booked an appointment on behalf of my husband who has dementia and is not very mobile. Wanted to swap his reading specs for distance, adding reactolite capability as he has had 3 eye operations - all explained on the phone beforehand. Guy serving me seemed to think it was funny when I mentioned my husband was confused. I was told I would have to pay to swap as returns must be within 100 days and we were outside of that. I was expecting to pay £70 anyway as advised on the phone, but I assumed they meant for a whole new pair of glasses. The guy serving me said he would need to speak to his manager, but he returned 5 minutes later to tell me that I would have to wait 15-20 minutes as his manager was busy doing paperwork!! So that means that paperwork is far more important in this store than customers!! Manager magically appeared quite quickly, and I agreed to pay the £70 (which turned out to be £75!). I left very upset and insulted. It?s hard enough being a Carer without encountering treatment of this kind. Terrible!

They couldn't have been more helpful and the audiologist saw me straight away when I suffered an attack of sudden hearing loss. I was referred to my doctor and given an evaluation print out to show her. I can thoroughly recommend Specsavers and will be going to them from now on for my regular hearing tests.

I used to shop in the T. Wells opticians but since moving to Tonbridge I decided to switch over. The difference is palpable. Quick and friendly service from all staff. I would like to mention Abbie who helped me find the perfect frames for me. Went through all my lens options and helped me with my first pair of sunglasses. Despite having a small feminine head I much prefer masculine frames which I have been denied due to my smaller head. Abbie picked up on my discomfort, listened to my issues, related, and immediately took me to the men?s section and found me a pair that I adore. I?ve never felt so comfortable or helped in a specsavers. I did not feel rushed as I messaged my partner for opinions and looked through the sunglasses colour options. I would recommend the Tonbridge store over T. Wells after just this one appointment in the 13 years I've had glasses. Abbie is an ASSET to the team and I can?t thank them enough for helping me out!

5 stars is not enough for this store! They emailed every store in the country to find an expired child frame for my little girl, who gets fixated on certain objects and orders. In this case it was her glasses. They found the second pair in the country and got them all ready in time for her birthday. Then they advised no charge. As a parent used to always having to buy double in case she loses something I found this quite incredible. Words cannot express my thanks to the staff at this branch. Beyond customer service. They treated my little girl with such kindness, and they made the visit a positive experience for her. Thank you! ?
