Thank-you Kasinia for always going the extra mile every time I stay. The Rose & Crown is definitely beginning to feel like home away from home.Your warm welcome is sincere and makes me feel so relaxed and comfortable.Rooms: Clean comfortable bed.Safety: Very safe with secure on-site free parking.Walkability: Right on the High Street so central to all the shops and bus stops.Food & drinks: The breakfast is not worth the money paid, but there are plenty of restaurants and bars within close proximity. The hotel no longer serves lunch and dinner.

Great location. Awesome staff and breakfast is top notch. Some have had a whinge about the rooms but my room was perfectly fine. It?s an older characterful hotel with heaps of history and personality and in my opinion much better than a soul less Premier Inn or equivalent.Best of all. The wireless was flawless so I was able to get heaps of work done during my stay.Fugles brewery is just a few doors down. And there?s heaps of coffee shops and eateries a quick walk away.Good choice. Recommended!

The place is tired and tatty, it needs renovating again. All of the floorboards squeak loudly in the rooms, the room above woke me up several times as a result. The road outside is very loud also.

Definitely a 3 star experience, rooms look tired but functional, no food available except breakfast, bed was awful.

We had to change room, as even though we emailed the hotel a week before we arrived asking if the hotel was accessible for someone on crutches, no one responded. So upon arrival we were offered a room in the accommodation in the carpark. The room was poorly lit, but we could see, cobwebs hanging from the ceiling over the desk. Rips in the wallpaper, none of the furniture had been moved to vacuum the room in years so a build up of dirt and dust is around everything. The windows have mould on them and the net curtain was ripped. To top off our stay while brushing my teeth in the morning, a woodlice was walking about in the bathroom.

It is my responsibility to book all company accommodation for nationwide travel. I booked four rooms for business for two nights at the Rose & Crown in Tonbridge. My Team Leader called me after the first night to say they would rather not stay the second night and could I book them a different hotel. They reported to reception that there was no hot water in rooms, the beds looked like they had been slept in on arrival and the overall cleanliness left a lot to be desired. The Hotel receptionist did not apologise for the inconvenience, nor offer a solution.

Very dated hotel. The mattress must have been installed when the hotel was built. Loads of beams all over the place. Does not serve lunch or evening meals. Breakfast is well below the pair for the Best Western Hotels. Unless it changes a huge amount will not be back. Chef this morning was giving off due to me turning up a few minutes early for breakfast. He arrived 15 minutes before service was due to start.

My partner Philip Hollyman booked this hotel for our visit. AVOID !!! The most terrible experience in hotels costing £100 per night . Smells are a mixture of damp and filth . Rooms do not appear the same as the photos , . Dirty carpets , uncomfortable bed , soft and sinking , no sleep , heating to high , uncomfortably? bathroom and room needs updating . Toilet dirty , cups filthy with sticky residue in places inside and out . Booked breakfast but decided I would not eat here due to the state of the cups in the room . No staff around to help . Buckets on landing to catch leaks dirty bucket . Unreal ! Worse room I?ve ever been to stay in and a dirty smelly place and unkept . Do not look at the photos because you will be shocked . Towels are tired and old and off white . Just a horrible stay and paid £100 plus breakfast cost we didn?t and couldn?t eat after seeing the state of a simple coffee cup . AVOID ! AVOID AT ALL COSTS !!!!!

As we are Best Western members and have stayed in quite a few over the years, this location was convenient as visiting the area. A bit of a pain to find the car park at the back. We were given a free drinks voucher because of our long standing membership which was a nice touch. We had booked a superior 4 poster room but could not find the room as room number and name not posted up anywhere. The hotel had a really musty smell everywhere and our room was the same. For a superior room it was totally disappointing. The original panelling was thickly painted a dark brown and was grey with the dust trapped in the panelling, and in the panels of the ancient furniture. Window ledges were black with grime and net curtains needed a good wash. Bathroom had been remodelled but toilet seat about to fall off. Had to laugh as there was a peep hole in door but could only be used by someone well over 6 ft tall! Also fire regs so high up could not read or see them properly. Slept well although the springs 'sprung' every time we moved. Pleased with breakfast as freshly cooked. Husband slipped on steps leading down to bedroom as so dark in that area. Left soon after and reported to reception the toilet seat, the darkness outside room and the dusty state of room. Could see the man on reception was really put out on hearing this but needs to be addressed. The hotel has so much potential but needs a fortune to bring it up to date and safety issues must be addressed. Although a Best Western sure stay property which is the basic end of the brand, just not good enough for the name.

the website is inaccurate, there is no restaurant yet the room folder had the opening hours and a menu in it. the staff were unhelpful with drinks. Having stayed at Best Western hotels a number of times with excellent memories i was greatly disappointed with the Rose and Crown. The staff could not be bothered to supply my wife with a cup of coffee on the first night and an alcoholic drink on the second nght. It was claimed that there was no staff, in a Hotel!!

I booked 10 rooms for wedding party for the 22nd and 23rd September. The hotel had loads of character and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. I would like to thank Karen the head house maid for sparing some of her time to explain the history of the building and so famous people that had stayed there!

Stayed 3 nights..Dirty room complained... extractor fan in bathroom not working, shower hoses leaking , bins not emptied, no clean towels arrived bed left unmade the whole stay...disgusting dirty expensive place location good but thats it, would have been happier with a tent in the local parkRooms: Dirty and nothing works.Noteworthy details: The church next door had bell ring from about 7 to 10 in the evening really loud.
