Good optician. I'm not sure if I will be back myself. There may be great equipment. I just felt really uncomfortable needing to explain that after returning the sunglasses ( there was nothing wrong with them I wasn't convinced on the style ) a refund would be needed not listening to all this "we will wait, keep them glasses for few days and you think about it and let us know..."No need to keep them and waiting as I'm returning them. Refund has been made immediately after pointing out that this should be done. Even on the official Sarengeti website it states " easy returns within 30days" no one at any point explain that this applies only to non prescription glasses. I don't understand why ppl try to avoid doing that it should be part of the job it should be very much natural thing and further more it should be suggested and done by staff. Then as I was interested in other model but the same brand I was told this time you need to get this right because you won't to be able to return them. Great,no pressure at all. So I spent about £1400 for 2pair of glasses which I kept and I was trying to get sunglasses as well in the range of £950-1k and I got a noticeable change of mood? Why? I'm simply trying to find glasses I will be comfortable with.I guess I did expect better standard of customer service and ppl to be a bit more professional.Nice place but I think I will go somewhere else...

Went for a dry eye examination and was suspiciously quickly diagnosed with demodex infestation (I was told this was 99% the problem) and encouraged to purchase £160 worth of wipes. Advised not to use a warm compress as it ?wouldn?t make much difference?. Dry eye symptoms persisted, I emailed numerous times and had to wait weeks before I received a response. Have since gone to another clinic where I am using heated mask and you can see my glands are returning. All in all £500 wasted.

The enviroment was light ,clean and attractive. Catherine was very welcoming, she explained cleaely every procedure and why she was doing it.She she was very patient,kind and reassuring. I was amazed at the up to date technology. She explained what were the next steps,,a referral to have my cataracts removed,drops for my dry eyes,wipes for eye mites.I had fears about my eyesight I could not see.Thank you Catherine,you are a star.I am very reassured now that I am not losing my sight.

A very positive experience at Buchanan Optometrists. The team were attentive and caring during my appointment and after a thorough examination I was able to select from a very extensive range of frames. Good to see other services such as audiology and even a range of make up for sensitive eyes. Definitely worth a visit.

My experience with Buchanan Optometrists was positive in all respects:- An appointment with Alisdair was quickly arranged;- Ample time was allocated to taking a full history;- State of art technology was used to identify the issues;- The diagnosis was clearly explained and questions answered fully, in person and subsequently by email;- A precise treatment regimen was set out and reiterated by email;- The recommended medications and provisions were available for purchase on the spot;- A very pleasant relationship was established with Alisdair and the staff which I look forward to maintaining.

I went to Buchanan Optometrists for severe dry eyes. This was out of desperation, having seen 2 different opticians and having been referred to an ophthalmologist. I wish they were my first choice. I couldn't believe that by following a procedure with special drops and wipes(none of which were recommended by the opticians or the ophthalmologist), my eyes were back to normal. I now go for a yearly check up and couldn't be more grateful.

Incredibly detailed examination in a relaxed environment. Cannot recommend too highly. Vast choice of frames and options. And a free car park across the road!!!

Completely put my mind to rest regarding health of my eyes. Thoroughly recommended. AllThe team were also extremely helpful to my wife when she had a problem with spectacles dispensed by another optician. We have now both signed up to their Care Plan and intend to remain under their care for good rather than make ?false economy? using a cheaper alternative. If you are dissatisfied with ?chain opticians? do not hesitate to try Buchanans - you won?t be disappointed.

I have been going to Alisdar and Kathryn for about 15 years and they are both fantastic. Alisdar helped me when I first started wearing contact lenses at 15, patiently showing me how to take them in and out and trialing several ones until we found the perfect ones for me. I go for 6 monthly check ups and everyone always knows who you are and has a nice catch up with you. Their equipment is great. I go to Moorfields eye hospital and still prefer to get my eyes tested at Buchanan as they do a more thorough check and take their time to explain everything to you. I have even moved to Southampton and refuse to change opticians as I know I won't get the same level of service anywhere else.

I have been with Buchanan Optomotrists for more years than I would care to remember! Their equipment is cutting edge, including one piece of kit that I understand is only one of two existing in the UK. And has, only today, highlighted areas in my eye health that could not otherwise have been detected. In a nutshell, their expertise and dedicated care have, literally, saved my eyesight. And you cannot put a price on that...I cannot recommend Buchanans more highly.

I know I am getting the best eye care at Buchanan?s . I never feel rushed if I have questions about a treatment. Alisdair and Kathryn are very friendly, welcoming and helpful. Eye examinations are extremely thorough, using the best equipment and results are fully explained afterwards. I would thoroughly recommend Buchanan Optometrist.
