Walked through the front door, took 2 steps and nearly fell over. The floor felt like it had been covered in wax. I'm
young and fit so managed to stay on 2 feet. The elderly would not. Ordered a toasted sausage and soft egg sandwich.The bread had obviously been near a heat source as was dried out but by no means was toasted.The soft egg was cooked perfectly, nice and runny. Unfortunately they then cut the sandwich in half which meant all the lovely runny yolk ended up in the bottom of the box. Talking of which my sandwich was in a plastic box which was in a plastic bag which had a wooden fork and a plastic knife. Who eats a sandwich with a knife and fork? Are we not supposed to be reducing plastic packaging? Plenty of scope to do so here. Finally the price of £4.50 was on the high side I think. I usually pay approx £3.50. So I'm afraid I won't be visiting again any time soon.

We have been eating here for a long time , the food is always hot,the place is clean, and the staff are friendly.Today breakfast number 3 no beans and poached eggs ( I don't like fried eggs) .. my partner had lasagne chips salad ....2 teas £20 ... value for money ..

I did it again and ordered too much! The Station Cafe is exactly what it should be - a no nonsense, well run cafe. It's clean, tidy and airy. Service is friendly and the food is hot and plentiful. The breakfast menu options should please everyone and you don't have to wait too long to kill those morning hunger pangs. There's a car park around the corner and it's a good launchpad if you're heading off by train or you're off the the High Street for a spot of shopping. I find the tables just a tad too small for four people, but you can't have everything, right?
