Overnight stay convenient for working in the area. Room comfortable and spotless. Staff very friendly and helpful. Nice dinner menu and a good choice at breakfast.

Great food. The menu has plenty of choice. Service with a smile. The pork was moist with the fat rendered perfectly?.the crackling shattered?and the gravy was a deep delicious flavour. All the plates were fabulous and we?ll definitely return.

This is the fourth time we have stayed at this pub and we haven?t been disappointed. The rooms are ?bijou? and tastefully decorated. The pub serves superb food and a good selection of ?real? beers and other alcoholic beverages.
Our only tiny negative point and for some reason this is UK and Continent wide, the plates are never hot, especially at breakfast, barely lukewarm. With the ?latent heat of fusion? this rapidly cools down the food on the plate.

Absolutely gorgeous pub. I loved every bit of my meal. I've been treated extremely well and would absolutely recommend staying and eating here. The pub is so cosy and inviting the food is delicious and the rooms are wonderful. The location is stunning. Definitely worth it!

Brilliant atmosphere food and service ?

Have visited the restaurant several times over the years and have usually been very pleased with the atmosphere but our recent visit was not so. Due to it being very hot the back door was open however the smell of cigarette smoke all evening was over powering from other customers sitting at the table immediately outside and those standing by the door. It was unpleasant and off putting whilst eating our meal. It might be an idea to make the table immediately outside the door a non smoking table or site smokers away from the doorway to avoid unpleasant aromas from cigarettes. We will revisit but not if we are sited next to the doorway.

The accommodation comprises a several rooms adjacent to but separate from the pub. Their external styling complements that of the pub. My room (No 5) was large and well prepared / spotless. It included a comfortable, and a modern, well spec'd bathroom with both bath and a really effective shower. No noise intruded from either pub or adjacent rooms. I had dinner in the pub, including a glass of wine and then a pint. There were lots of diners in but I didn't have to wait long to be served. My meal came quickly and was delicious - though I'd rate the chips at 8 rather than 10 out of 10. The price of the room was very competitive and the food and drink costs were also reasonable. Recommended for lone north Downs Way walkers like me, people wanting a comfy rural getaway or those seeking a stopover before/after a channel crossing.
