Ordered steak and fish cakes .
Steak is really good. The fish cake was very tasty but tasted mire like an arancini than fishcake. It was cheesy and had rice and very less smoked haddock. However still v enjoyable .

Visited to experience the Thursday Rib night. Booked for 6.30 and although the pub was quiet, they had one rack left. After 1 hour 35 mins wait, the food arrived and the ribs were brutally over cooked. Half was so burnt, I could not cut it. When i complained, reaction was 'Ill tell the chef'... problem solved obviously!!!! Decor inside is nice. We will not visit again.

Beware added service charge!
Food was good and arrived at table hot although small portions especially considering the cost.
Staff friendly and helpful.
However, I was extremely annoyed a 10% service charge had been automatically added. I asked to have a tip added to my card payment and the Staff member was honest enough to point out that a service charge had already been added, however I feel this should be at the customers discretion and not added by the company.
Won't go there again out of principle.

A week day visit was good so booked Sunday. Batter pudding and potatoes overcooked to be uneatable. Reported to staff with no apology. Expensive £85 for two is excessive. Includes automatic service charge. Why? Understaffed leading slow service. Better find somewhere different next week.

Not a bad little pub but if a smell of fish but they did have fish on the menu. had Sunday roast which I found very expensive for what you get over £40 for 2 ppl without the extra sides we bought. I had to ask for clean cutlery The staff were lovely I wouldn't rush back for food but a drink when passing through.

We visited for a Sunday roast, on entry barmaid was very nice and seated us. Menu is pricey but if the food is good never and issue, unfortunately when the food arrived looked good on the sharing platter although not much on there, I had the pork belly which wasn?t cooked properly all gooey potatoes were stale / reheated and the veg was rock hard. When we were finally asked how the food was I was blanked because I had previously asked for a new fork as was dirty with hard dried food still present, as alway made a joke out of it. Didn?t even question the fact my plate was still full when plates taken away. Trying to support local businesses unfortunately this one needs to support its customers.

Overly priced. I think they are trying to be an up market restaurant instead of a decent pub serving decent food. The previous owners had a much better menu and was a lot cheaper. We only had two mains, two deserts, a pint of cider and a glass of wine for £72!! No wonder it was quiet in there. Having said all that, the barman/waiter was excellent.

Have visited the re-opened Kings Head about 7 times now since opening! Food is absolutely incredible, in fact some of the best quality food I've eaten up there with some very fancy high end restaurants! Staff are super friendly, great drinks on offer!

Visited for the first time under new management. April 2025. Friendly and welcoming staff. The chateaubriand was delicious!! Well will definitely be back.
