Wow ? absolutely fantastic food! We ordered the Scotch egg, squid, and Ceaser salad, and every dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. Service at the bar by Mark was attentive, friendly, and made us feel very welcome. A truly outstanding experience.

Difficult to score this as it is a mixed bag, but here goes.
The location is great, right by the river. The furnishings are also very pleasant. When we turned up on a Friday evening without a reservation we were seated straight away and it was all going very well.
Then the food arrived. I won't go into detail but there was a major problem with the kitchen and one of the dishes should never have been allowed out, while the other was just ok.
Why 4 stars? Because stuff happens and the front of house really did make an effort to put it right. First they checked what had happened, apologised profusely and offered whatever I wanted from the menu which came promptly, was fine, and wasn't charged(the offending dish wasn't either, obviously). There was also a minor issue with coffee which again was put right straight away.
I hope the kitchen malfunction was a one-off. Excellent front of house don't deserve to be let down like that, and I would go back.

We went to Sandwich yesterday and didn't know where to have lunch. The Bell was a real find: confortable, with old age appeal although just modern enough and very well kept.
The staff and proprietors were charming, professional and prompt. We ordered a starter of shrimps to share, followed by crab linguine and traditional fish and chips. It was all delicious and the portions were big and satisfying.
A great experience.

Me and my partner had lovely chicken roast here it was beautiful,such friendly an helpful staff even welcomed our dog will definitely be coming back .

Have to praise Brendan who actually went above and beyond the helpfulness efficiency making our stay there absolutely perfect Thank U so much we shall be enjoying visiting The Bell Hotel again soon.

This a nice traditional hotel in a quaint beautiful town of Sandwich.
The hotel is located just near the river on the entrance into Sandwich town.
The hotel has a bar and restaurant open for guests and local people and some 40 odd rooms.
The hotel staff was very helpful and polite.
The breakfast service was amazing and we enjoyed our stay.
The hotel has limited parking facilities 4 parking bays to be precise on a first come.basis, but there is a parking place just round the corner which is very convenient.

Had an amazing lunch here! Portions were super generous, service was faultless and the views/location was dreamy! It was my birthday and the staff kindly went the extra mile with candles in my dessert and an offer of a complimentary glass of fizz. Was made to feel very special indeed. Highly recommend. Will be back to sample more of their delicious menu!

What a lovely, historic hotel. Yes, there are a few minor niggles, but that's part of the charm of the place.
Fantastic staff and the breakfast is amazing.
Don't come here prepared to criticise every little thing, but enjoy the experience as a whole.
The walls in the bedroom are perhaps a little thin, so you can hear your neighbours (and they can hear you!)
Overall, it's a lovely place, with bags of character and with staff who are all trying to make your stay memorable.

Duck salad and calamari was amazing. First time visiting and the staff where extremely welcoming. definitely will be coming back.
