Served by friendly Katie and the landlord was very funny. It is a Classic pub (didn?t rate rooms Becuase didn?t stay just went for dinner). Went with friends as a table of 14 didn?t ask for a deposit. Very friendly with excellent service and complete transparency on how long the food would take as it is all freshly homemade. Great food and good prices to match.

Went to The Star this afternoon for dinner. So pleasantly surprised as what a fantastic afternoon I had. Just turned up in time that the band started playing!! But to tell the truth, they weren't the worst. LOL. Great pint of Abbot Ale,the very best of welcome, what more would you want? Then, I got me dinner? Outrageously good! Couldn't fault it. Yes, the place could get a little roudy at times but a 10 for the beer,a 10 for the welcome, and I've got to give me roast beef an 11? It was better than that. Try it.

Since the problems, this lovely pub has re-opened and is back to what it does well - good beer and food, great prices and superb location. It has been a favourite of ours for years, and it is great to see it back up and running again. Their garden in summer is one of the best places in Kent to enjoy a pint (or three!).

We went to The Star as a family of eight for a family celebration. We booked the day before and were met by Katie, who was very welcoming. We chose to sat outside as the weather was lovely and the view to the church and fields was lovely.
The food was all handmade, which meant a wait, but it was totally worth it! The food was delicious, everyone enjoyed everything and all plates were cleared. Very good sized portions and well presented too. Thanks

Stopped at The Star Inn on Sunday 11 August 2024 for a quick drink towards the end of our bike ride from Appledore to Dymchurch. Just as we were arrived, a Rod Stewart tribute was just about to start performing outside in the beer garden. He was absolutely fantastic. We ended up staying for a couple of hours as the music was so enjoyable and in such a lovely setting. The staff were all lovely and came out regularly to remove empty glasses and take orders. It was a really memorable afternoon and look forward to returning in the future.

With a tall, cold, drink and a magnificent bowl of chips, the Star Inn was like an oasis in the middle of a long, hot, and windy desert of a bike ride. They provided me with the will and energy to continue on to Rye.

Been a bit of alterations since last here,all for the good.Only stopped off for a couple of pints enroute,staff friendly, reasonably priced, going to have to make time for a longer visit.

Beautiful village pub in an idyllic setting and lovely welcoming staff. I didn't eat here myself but the food looked very appetising, seems to be plenty of parking and a really large garden area with tables and something for the kids to climb over. On a balmy summers day sat in the garden with a cold drink and a gentle breeze bringing the faint aroma of the sea in the air it's tranquility personified.
