Nice location and friendly bar staff. If it wasn?t for the lack of ales and the aggressive comments made by one of the overly drunk regulars towards one of our party when we left, this pub could be lovely. What was more surprising was the the fact that the bar staff found it amusing. I certainly won?t be bringing my family here.

Brilliant service. We turned up after food was finished but the chef Tom did us 3 steak meals and they were all cooked to perfection. Service was outstanding All 3 of us were very satisfied and grateful for the service we received. Highly recommend this place for food and service.

From the moment we walked in the service for a village pub was superb. Then onto the carvery it is just like home cooked and the portions are so generous. Tom was brilliant and even pulled a beef pie which of course I wanted to sample. I will be coming back now all the time I?m in the area.

Room fairly small with ensuite. Room in extension to rear of building away from public bar. Dedicated parking at rear. Breakfast provided in a basket left outside door in the morning, comprising of pastries, fruit and a bottle of Orange juice.

We had a carvery lunch which was awful!!! Dry overcooked meat and expensive. Won't be going again!!

Beautiful room. Very friendly staff and the service was 1st class. The pub is also great and the staff and customers are very welcoming.

WOW!!! what a fantastic find, we stumbled on The White Stag in Monkton last Sunday, beautiful decor, inviting atmosphere, very fun friendly pub with fabulous traditional English Roast dinner. It is the best roast dinner in THANET!! Food was absolutely amazing, 5 star, all staff super friendly, excellent table service, top value for money in beautiful surroundings. The owner of the pub Tom cannot do enough for you. The food portion is fit for a king. I will be visiting this hidden gem everytime I come here. You will not find a better Roast Dinner around I have tried them all and The White Stag is by far the best!

The room was clean but here are some things I would like to have known. The name a photos look like a hotel but it was a room in a pub .... our bathroom was not in our room..it was along the corridor. The only food available in the pub was pizza and garlic bread. There was music playing in the pub until.after midnight which we could hear in our room and we were not able to sleep.. these things should be clearly stated before you book or at least should be told on arrival. It depends what kind of stay you are looking for. If you want to go out for a drink etc and then somewhere to stay from about half 11 this is a nice place to do that. If you want a restful stay and to actually sleep in the room then it's not for you. What upset me is I didn't know what time the music was going off so at 12.15 I had to get dressed and go into a pub and ask. I was told midnight and they did turn it off. But it was a unpleasant experience which could have been avoided if basic customer service was in place.

We were staying at the nearby Foxhunters Park and saw on TA some good reviews for this place. We'd been out for the morning and wanted some lunch and a drink, so parked up behind in the car park and went in. Lots of construction going on all around but the pub was clean and very comfortable. We were advised they were not doing lunches, so we ordered drinks. We went and sat in the lovely leather chairs and were chatting about our morning. Some others came in at the same time as us, obviously regulars, they sat near the bar chatting to the person that served us. But soon their conversation became loud and the member of staff was using the F word in practically every sentence, not quietly either! It was so unpleasant that we left, as we walked past the member of staff and friends, the member if staff said "oh I'd forgotten you were there" That was obvious!! Needless to say we did not return, no-one needs a welcome like that!! Probably a one off but we didn't want to take the chance, we had our granddaughter with us, and it embarrassed us.

An amazing find. Lovely room in a fabulous small family run pub. Landlord amazing and couldn't help enough, same for the lovely young lady behind the bar. The night ended chatting away to the landlord, bar lady and two other couples both staying there too who hadn't met before either. Such a lovely atmosphere and the rooms are all recently refurbished. Lovely complementary breakfast too. All great and hope to go back very soon.

Very clean room and nice shower. Drawbacks: no obvious Signposting from road so a little hard to find and room above pub so if you like to go to sleep early it is a bit noisy . Breakfast basket was superb
