Great discovery on the Isle of Sheppey.
We visited Queenborough by car, but there is a railway station which would allow you to walk to the venue.
This area is full of history and surprising historical background, which includes Lord Nelson, who once was living here in one of the houses.
We really enjoyed the interior decor, which is very nautical and a tribute to the past.
Entertaining noises by the parrot in the cage kept us amused.
. There are many items around with a connection to the past, such as the collection of clay pipes.
A good selection of food is available with various drinks to quench your thirst. A very good attentative and polite service
There is also a garden seating area with tables outside.
We enjoyed a walk through the formal garden area which was close to the pub, there is parking available around but it is limited near the pub.
We had a relaxing marine walk along the sea wall, watching a beautiful sunset developing which finished our day perfectly

Great pub, with fantastic food and friendly staff. I was greeted on arrival by a gorgeous young staff member called Skye, who managed to find us our booked table even though the table number had got mixed up!
We each had a carvery meal, and all of us agreed that the meats had been cooked perfectly, and the veggies were excellent too. Our drinks were also as good as we expected.
All the staff were very friendly and worked diligently all the time we were there. Their smiles were infectious, and made for a great atmosphere all round.
Thank you very much to all the staff for a super meal, and a special mention once again to Skye for being very attentive, (and for her cute smile)!
Will I be coming back again?... YES, most definitely.

Used The Flying Dutchman as our pub run location today. There was 13 of us and the service and food was brilliant!
Even though we ordered separately the food came out pretty much together, hot and delicious.
Thank you, we?ll definitely be back for our Wednesday Pub Run soon.

Went for lunch first time today and the food was great. We had the steak and prawn smothered chips. Great flavours and portion size. Lovely polite, friendly waiter who served us. Sorry I didn?t get his name, young guy with curly hair. Nice clean pub. Will be back. Thanks ??

Want to say a massive thank you to all at the FD for making my Mums Surprise 80th birthday just perfect.
There wasn't a thing that wasn't done.
The decoration was beautiful and the food just fantastic but most of all the staff were lovely, helpful and happy.

Haven't been here for a while (shame on me) However to walk in today & discover the 'glow up' what a surprise the painted ceilings & decor instantly make you feel transported sets the mood for intimate dinning. We chose the carvery & was not at all disappointed especially being a veggie - so much to choose from! Highly recommend & must add what a great venue for events too be it a family celebration or corporate.
Staff were exceptionally friendly especially the young man Lewis & the highest standard of cleanliness could be seen across the board from all staff.
Thank you for a great Sunday for me & my family.

Very warm welcome in this slightly hidden gem.of a pub, great portions good price, servers are well trained efficient polite and almost unseen. (Which is great!) Had a double cheese burger and fries, but would also recommend checking out their specials board!

Normally it's the best fish and chips on the island, but not today, the batter was so hard couldn't get my knife into , over cooked , I know it was very busy but not good for the price ,

Friendly and welcoming service, tasty home-cooked food. We enjoyed pan-fried skate wing and a mixed grill with all the trimmings. The beer and food were excellent. We will definitely be returning and would recommend to others.
