I visit Salamander quite frequently (atleast once a week) and it?s one of my favourite shops in Maidstone. I bought a glass butterfly from them last week which instantly broke and attempted to get it exchanged for a new piece. The person serving me called her manager to confirm if this was possible (even though exchanges are allowed for 14 days) and the manager discouraged this and was incredibly rude about it. The member of staff said this item could have broken in transit as it?s delicate. My issue is, 1. If there?s a customer around and you cannot exchange the item, you can convey this politely, whereas the manager chose to be rude 2. If this item is so ?delicate? why didn?t the staff bubble wrap and package it properly? Also important to mention that I didn?t ask for my money back or call their item defective (which it clearly was), and was very kind to them throughout.Needless to say Salamander has lost a regular customer.

my daughter was very upset yesterday trying to buy me something for mothersday she picked up a pendulum and wanted s thumb ring .she followed the lady around trying to get help and buy my bits but for some reason the lady seemed to be ignoring her serving a customer that just walked in .she left with nothing

Love this shop really awesome variety of stock from beads and bangles to clothes and accessories. Could easily spend an hour in the shop it's packed with goodies. Really friendly staff also. An asset to the town in a great location.
