Wow, what a fabulous place. Delightful staff - service without a whisper of need. Had seconds of almost every dish because everything was so delicious and we were celebrating so .... we absolutely loved it and will definitely return. Thanks so much for the happy birthday at the end [you know who I am now] that was lovely and generous. See you again, Sam

Sadly it's not what it used to be. We used to really enjoy it here but the last couple of times we've not noticed a decline. Firstly, the last two times several things never arrived and we had to repeatedly remind staff for our drinks. It took a good 5-10 minutes to bring each dish out by which point the first things to arrive were cold. There's no point if you're meant to only eat one dish at a time. The portion sizes also seem to have gotten smaller if you order anything other than potatoes. Finally, with all those things in mind we don't think it's worth the price at all. Although the food is tasty, I think based on our last two experiences, sadly we won't be back.

Wonderful Spanish restaurant in beautiful historic building, had a family meal here and they easily catered for some very diverse dietry requirements. Note Paella has to be pre booked for two people as it takes an hour to cook, this is quite normal for a Spanish restaurant. Will definitely be going back often.
Dietary restrictions: Easily coped with Vegan, piscatarian and nut allergy
Parking: Parking is in multistorey opposite

Outstanding location and atmosphere, the quality of the paella was disappointing though.
People will disagree and I recommend they book a weekend trip to Valencia, Spain and try a real one.

As returning customers it was no surprise that we enjoyed another superb meal at La Taberna. From the moment we walked in the door until we said adios the amazing staff were all smiles and really lovely, these were not false smiles, these were the smiles of people who enjoyed their job and it really showed so thank you. The mediaeval Corpus Christi Hall has been tastefully transformed into what I would say was a typical Spanish Taberna, many of which we have enjoyed in older buildings in Spain over the decades. Because the ceiling is high and the restaurant spacious we were able to enjoy each others conversation without needing to raise voices to hear above other guests.
We had pre-ordered a chicken and chorizo paella which was delicious and followed a selection of tapas chosen by us.
The whole evening was memorable not only for the super food but the ambiance and surroundings and of course the truly lovely staff.

Came to La Taberna for a birthday. Booked a table via email with Clara. I had to change my reservation quite a few times as was disorganised and managed to book wrong dates etc but Clara was helpful and friendly throughout.
Great for a special occasion as the building is fantastic, doesn?t feel like you?re in Maidstone at all which is a plus.
Food was lovely too, we opted for the chicken and seafood paella which was some of the best paella I?ve ever had.
Most importantly however, service was fantastic. We had four different servers during our booking and everyone was really friendly and efficient.
Thank you for looking after us, we will definitely be returning soon.
Parking: Park in fremlin walk car park. Reasonable enough prices for a Sunday

Incredible place to eat in Maidstone, both the food and the service are some of the best I have had on my trip to London. If I return I will not hesitate to repeat.

The food and service was amazing, couldn't fault this place. The food portions were good, we had 3 dishes each between 4 of us which was plenty of food. The whole experience was brilliant. Will definitely be back.

10 of us ages 5-80 all had a great night here. Food was really tasty and plentiful and the service was efficient and very friendly. We can be a bit of a nightmare as a group and the staff dealt with us very well. Will be back as soon as possible
