I found it strange when I took some unwanted clothes in and was told I Have to book an appointment. This was Thursday. I was told by the rude shop assistant that the next appointment was Monday. So I said I?ll just take them in to town . In which She huffed at me .Never have I taken stuff in to charity and been made to feel like I?m an inconvenience. Ridiculous system and unbelievably rude staff .

Usually great but be wary of quality control.I once grabbed a jacket, just about what I was looking for but a bit destroyed in places. I didn't want to pass it up, but in the end I couldn't overlook it wasn't worth the £5.When I tried to return it the lady was very adamant she would never put anything this quality for sale. I don't know or care if she did or not, it hang in my wardrobe for 1.5 months, never worn, just as bought. She ended up refusing the refund as it was past 28 days - which would be fair if not for numerous refunds they accepted in the past that were 2-3 months old. After years of shopping there it felt like a slap in the face. And to be clear I'm not upset about the refund but her attitude - being basically called a liar and insinuating I damaged it didn't feel nice. If I wanted to scam free clothes I wouldn't go for used, ruined clothes. Even if she's new treating a customer like that because of your ego is not right. So be wary of quality control and Merry Christmas x

Ungrateful, stroppy and really rude especially the manageress. I refuse point blank to take anything there even though it's the closest place to me. Friends have all said the same (again, the manageress in particular). All my other local charity shops had a period when they were unable to take donations due to lack of space and I've taken stuff to the tip rather than take it to this one which is a real shame. Shame her boss doesn't read this really. UPDATE: Many thanks for your reply Heart of Kent but the issue isn't them turning donations away, it's the attitude of the staff e.g one time I took a few bags in there after 4pm as I had no idea that they didn't take donations then and there were no signs up at the time. I was told in the rudest manner not to do it again. Another time I took stuff in and told manageress it was quite valuable but very fragile (and yes, she did hear me) to which she snatched the bag off of me and literally threw it to one side. Another time, they were closing up and the metal shutters wouldn't come down for some reason so I tried to help the man. The manageress came along ripping into man about me & health & safety which I totally understand but a) don't have a go at a member of staff in public and b) when I tried to explain that it was me who just went and helped so not the man's fault, I was instantly dismissed with a very abrupt "we don't need your assistance". Not a word of thanks, just dismissed. If it hadn't been a charity shop I would've told her exactly how rude she is.
