I cannot rate this pub more highly if I tried. We stayed for two nights while my brother was getting married nearby and it was simply perfect. The meals were great, rooms lovely and the staff made it so special for us. Phil was the man! We chatted with him endlessly. What a great venue with fantastic staff.

Pub meal review: The staff were lovely and friendly, and the interiors of the pub are nice. The smokehouse sharing platter (for 2 people) had some ok elements, but really not very much food for £60. Would give dessert a miss - the peach cake was a bit strange and tasted like baking soda.

We go to the Windmill regularly and food is always good. However had a very disappointing experience with the smokehouse menu.
The only choice left was the sharing platter at £30 per head. It was very small and tasteless. The pork wasn?t cooked nearly enough and very fatty and unpleasant. A real shame. We pointed this out and were given a complimentary drink but it was just so disappointing

We visited this place back in March whilst staying at the Mercure Great Danes Hotel just a couple of minutes up the road, the menu was much more appealing then and everything was in stock.
We decided that it was worth revisiting with some family members, but, after singing its praises in our family, we were all a bit dismayed by the somewhat limited summer menu, lack of 0.0% drink choice and the number flies in the back room where we moved to.
Hope to see a radical improvement should we visit again, especially considering the price of food and drink.

This is the perfect place for a stopover to/from the UK and France. All of the staff and community are so welcoming and friendly. A big thank you to Raymonda for the lovely check in, drinks and company after a long journey. I would recommend trying the local Balfour wine (Bacchus).
The breakfast options in the morning were great and set us up for the next day of travelling. If you have time to stay in the area, walks in the grounds of nearby Leeds
Castle are highly recommended. The Windmill is a dog friendly pub. :-)

Great Sunday lunch, nice location just off the M20, avoid Maidstone Services and head here for a proper lunch! Dog friendly with nice outdoor dining.

Lovely Sunday afternoon lunch, we both had the fish and chips and it was delicious, staff friendly and attentive.
Would highly recommend visiting and will definitely be come back.
