Great little pub off the beaten track that sells cask ales. If I lived nearer to this place i would be in there a lot enjoying a oint and a good chat. Great place.

Great little pub, tucked away in the countryside. No frills, no music, no gimmicks = an enjoyable place to just enjoy a pint. Will definitely visit again.

Lovely little pub out in the sticks. Great cask selection, lager available (although the landlord will criticise you for ordering one), no music, screens or anything to make you question that this isn?t a real pub. Just good vibes and a very comical landlord. I will visit as often as I can.

Vee old pub. Very local, separate room for seating, huge open log fire, dogs welcome. Bootiful strong cask ale. Landlord was kept on his feet. Honest locals house. NO music, NO gambling machines-bliss. Christmas eve, 2023...spot

Traditional pub where the locals come to chat and share cheeses (Sunday's). Proper ale House where beer is poured straight from the barrel.

On arrival I greeted the barman with a ''hello how are you.'' This was completely ignored. The pub is certainly unusual and quirky but that shouldn't be an excuse for rudeness. We eventually were served with some fairly decent beer but not great. we drank this in the garden which was average at best with litter blowing around. We decided not to order more drinks due to the poor service but returned our empties to the bar and said thank you to the barman. this was again totally ignored.

This is a real oddity. Looks like a rather dishevelled house (let alone old house) on the outside and the inside is not dissimilar. It's almost like the pub was abandoned 50 years and then restarted recently without any decorating or modernisation. This is not a criticism at all.A great range of cask ales on offer, four or five and I plumped for a couple Hopheads. The pub has a micropub vibe about it but in truth, micropubs have an Old House vibe about them.Worth seeking out as you're unlikely to stumble across it.

Very cute old school pub with direct pour cask ale and a very cosy vibe. A proper local, which makes me want to move within walking distance, but welcoming to all comers.

Very traditional country pub experience. No signage outside and you could easily walk past without realising it's a pub. Great ale selection with beers from all over the country. Occasionally sells local Larkin's beer from wooden casks but unfortunately none was available when I dropped in. Also sells cider from wooden cask.A small seating area in the heritage pub interior encourages conversation among the customers. There's also a very pleasant garden. This pub won't be for everyone but if you're looking for a quiet, traditional ale house you'll probably love it. Only open evenings during the week and is closed 3pm - 6pm on weekends.

No slot machines, no beer engines or beer pumps and no jukebox. Please do not change a thing. Must be preserved in the current perfect state

Top Ale. Friendly and hospitable landlord. Reasonably priced in comparison to others nearby. Locals offered to share their pickles. All round excellent experience.

A real unspoilt gem of a pub

Only ever dropped my husband off and picked him up from here, by all accounts it is the best pub in the area.
