Myself and a few friends payed a visit to Lympne castle today and were treated with a very satisfying visit. Not only has the exterior of the castle been dutifully restored and cleaned after years of neglect but the inside is a pleasant homage to every era of the castle?s legacy. The staff were beyond hospitable and made us feel welcome and at home. For the future, it would be fantastic to be able to walk through the private garden, in order to see the ruins of Portus Lemanis, the Roman fort, up close. For now, you can still get relatively close by following the public footpath, just be careful of the slippery mud this time of year!Thank you for a nice day out.

We had a wonderful time at Lympe Castle. We stumbled upon it while on a walk and went in for some drinks. The staff and service were 5 star. Lovely selection of drinks, amazing ambiance. They?ve paid a lot of attention to small details which is impressive. We Will absolutely be returning for a meal and more drinks by an open fire in this stunning place.Walkability: Walked from unit 1 on the Hythe canal. Muddy in winter and not suitable for people with limited mobility.Food & drinks: Curious beers, local wines and spirits, lovely coffee machine

Myself and my daughter attended two events this Christmas at Lympne Castle and thoroughly enjoyed them both! She met Father Christmas and participated in the Elf Hunt. Both events were well run, not overcrowded due to time slots, wonderful staff and atmosphere and the opportunity to eat and drink on site.Beautiful surroundings and already eyeing up future events. Thank you.

An amazing Christmas meal last night. I knew the setting would be great - but also fantastic quality of food, followed by some of the best mince pies ever.

Enjoyed a birthday meal celebration in the same room that the couple got married in several years earlier. Service was superb, layout & ambience perfect. Roaring fireplace, delicious Christmas dinner. Even the heavy rain couldn't dampen the mood. Brilliant visit!Food & drinks: Incredible, delicious. Even the gravy jugs, dinner plates & vegetable platters were quirky and fabulous editions!

36 of us had a wonderful Christmas meal in the Great Hall. The group menu was very reasonably priced, the food beautifully presented and delicious, the service friendly, calm and very efficient and the whole atmosphere welcoming and relaxing. A big thank you to Dan, Laura and all the staff.

TL:DR: Were going to book our wedding there but the price list had changed recently as the venue is under new ownership. We were sent the old price list (for 2024 under the old owner) via Bridebook in October 2023. The new price list increased by ~200%.. Venue hire alone went from £3,500 in October on a Friday to £10,000. Drinks packages increased by a minimum of £7 pp, catering by a minimum of £37pp. Staff were no help and simply said they had asked for the old price list to be recalled from Bridebook. Frustrated, waste of time and frankly a ridiculous price increase of which no one could manage to give me an explanation as to what justified the 200% increase in costs.Longer Version:My partner and I are recently engaged and have been looking at venues. We booked Lympne Castle for a viewing in Nov 2023. We had seen this via Bridebook and requested a brochure and price list from the venue, as it really did look lovely from the photos. We were sent a price list for 2024 with prices that were within our budget. Having viewed the venue my partner and I both instantly knew that this was the venue we would have loved to get married in. After our viewing we were sent prices for both 2024 and 2025. Our jaws soon dropped when the price list had increased beyond anything that would be reasonably expected. During our viewing no one mentioned anything about new prices or the new ownership affecting the prices. We called the venue asking whether there had been a mistake and why the previous brochure we were sent had been so different in costs. For example, the venue hire alone went from being £3,500 to £10,000 for the same month and weekday. Everything had increased by a huge amount to the point where the same wedding would have cost us an extra £10,000. We were informed that the brochure we had received had been from the old ownership. When asked why the price had increased so much between owners there was no real justification and just seems to be a money grab. There was no compromise and no understanding, either pay £10k more than based on previous estimates or stop wasting our time. So that was it.. incredibly frustrating and disappointing news.We have also contacted Bridebook as to why they are still supplying out of date brochures and prices for the venue. It seems odd that the new ownership took over in February 2023 and yet 8 months later, incorrect information is still being given out.

I feel very lucky to have Lympne castle on my door step and extremely privileged that the owner has opened the doors to the public to allow us to also enjoy and experience this beautiful place. Mike and his team are super hospitable and enthusiastic and made me and my family feel like royalty today,. We booked for Sunday lunch for 11 of us. The food and drinks were perfect. It?s such an amazing experience, it starts from the minute you step into the courtyard and once into the castle with its huge Christmas tree and roaring fire it?s absolutely stunning. You can smell history, it?s grand. The team make you feel special the minute you walk in through the door.

We visited the castle a few weeks ago and quite simply were blown away.It is a hidden gem in the Kent countryside which must be seen to be believed. The team who run the castle must care deeply about their guests as everything from beginning to end was flawless, almost fairytale experience. The food, service was outstanding and the team could not do enough for you.We will most certainly be back to revisit in the future as this really is a magical experience located in the Kent countryside.
