Lovely pub, dog friendly, really welcoming helpful staff and the food was delicious and portions were generous.
We had the burger, Korean chicken wings, chips and book choi. It was all perfectly cooked and piping hot. Would definitely visit again.

The food, service and atmosphere at the Eight Bells is outstanding, now it is managed by Jon and his team. We visit regularly to enjoy the excellent food, which they happily adapt to our gluten-free and dairy-free dietary requirements. The Sunday roast is wonderful and we love a cheeky brunch on a bank holiday Monday. Paris and Archie (in the restaurant) can?t do enough to help us; their service is brilliant. We love that the menu is full of locally sourced ingredients and cooked from scratch.
In the sunnier weather, we love afternoons in the garden, which is well set up for families. Kids can play in the huge sand pit or watch ducks on the pond.
Overall, we can?t speak highly enough of the food, drinks, staff and facilities at The Eight Bells. We?d highly recommend the pub and restaurant to other diners, especially families and those with special dietary requirements.

Everything about this pub was brilliant! We tried our luck by attempting a walk up Sunday Lunch on Mother's Day, a slightly risky ask on one of the busiest days of the year. Despite this, we were found a lovely roomy table by the bar and made to feel very welcome by all the staff, who were incredibly friendly and went out of their way to help. We tried a Korean chicken wing plate to start, which was delicious, and both of our roasts (beef and pork) were also excellent, all using high quality, fresh ingredients and for a fair price. They also had a great choice of beers and some interesting non alcoholic cocktails, not something you'd find in every country pub. The building itself is beautiful and the atmosphere in the bar area was lively and really enjoyable. All in all a top place to eat and drink if you're in this corner of Kent / Sussex!

just took the mother unit for mother's day/birthday meal, was greeted with a friendly vibe, great service and the food was amazing, The kitchen staff went above and beyond to cater for my autistic son who is a extremely fussy eater and has stated he wants to go again, was very busy due to mother's day but the waiting time wasn't long at all, the kitchen staff are a credit to the establishment and in general the staff give the place a great atmosphere and vibe and a great asset to the village highly recommended and will be visiting again

We have had a lovely meal here this afternoon. The butternut squash roast was very tasty, especially the yorkshire pudding. Followed by delicious sticky toffee pudding. Huge potions of food too plus friendly and polite service.

Went to The Eight Bells Country Pub and Kitchen last night.
Following extensive work and improvements since Lakedown Brewing Co. & Tap Room took over the pub, I am delighted to say, the pub is now restored to its former glory and excellent quality.
A solid 10/10
Excellent food, service and brews.

This pub is beautiful and homely, with a fire providing a cozy atmosphere to the interior. We were quickly seated and served before having to spend some time deciding what to have as everything on the menu looked so good. I had a fantastic cocktail which was soon followed by a delicious duck main and my friend had the fish and chips. Dessert continued to delight us as we had an amazing crumble and sticky toffee pudding. Would definitely recommend coming here for a meal as you will not be disappointed! We will have to come back again to try out the cocktail menu
