This restaurant offers a delightful dining experience in a distinctive setting that exudes charm and character. The ambience is perfectly suited for a romantic dinner for two, with its soft lighting and thoughtfully arranged seating, but it is equally appealing for a family gathering where laughter and conversation can flow freely.
However, while the atmosphere truly shines, we found the menu to be somewhat uninspired and rather limited in its offerings. It didn't quite meet our expectations, as it leaned heavily on the more conventional dishes found in many pubs and restaurants. We believe that a more diverse selection would significantly enhance the dining experience, offering guests an array of exciting flavours and culinary options that extend beyond the usual fare. A broader menu could transform this lovely venue into a standout choice for food lovers.

It was a great pub but it has gone downhill with food and prices.
Couldnt believe a medium glass of red wine was £11.50!!!!!

Went for a Sunday roast. It was one of the best roasts we've had. We had the beef and it was beautifully cooked. Potatos were a bit floury but overall a very nice lunch indeed

We visited with friends for Sunday lunch yesterday. A lovely friendly local pub in a lovely location. Staff were great friendly and helpful. We sat inside as the weather looked questionable really nice table in the corner. It was busy but not overly loud and we didn't wait long for anything. The three roasts we had were delicious fantastic yorkshires ?? However ive never had such poor roast potatoes . They looked and tasted like they had been deep fried as someone had forgot to put the roasties in the oven very hard on the inside. None of us ate the potatoes as they were that bad but couldn't fault the rest of the food . Would we go back again yes 100% but maybe not the roast option ??

We had a great experience here from start to finish.
We needed to arrive late in the evening and made a phone call the day before. The staff couldnt be more helpful and friendly about it.
Upon arrival, check in was smooth and easy and we had time to sit in the front beer garden and enjoy a drink.
The rooms are amazing and quirky and beds very comfortable
(being an old building the stairs are very steep (bare that in mind if you have ability concerns with steep stairs).
We would definitely recommend and will definitely return here.

From the moment we walked in we felt welcome. Beautiful old pub. It was our Anniversary so we had booked a meal. The food was fantastic but above all the staff go above and beyond to make things perfect. The staff are 10/10. One added bonus is if you throw an even double on the dice your drinks round is free. Would highly recommend this old Kentish Pub.

We had an amazing stay in English countryside,the room so cozy and vintage style,i was feeling back like in 16century,staff very kind and lovely!
But the food was really delicious!
I really recommend!
