Had to stop for a few nights due to working in the area last minute, the phone reservation system can only be described as a joke, I called 15 times, left messages as asked never got to speak to anyone so ended up driving to the hotel ?to check if there was a room available! Luckily I managed to get the last room, such a shame as it was Lovely clean room & really comfy bed, food was ok.
Just need to work on their phone system.

Lovely welcome. Henry our server was especially lovely and so friendly.
Food starter soup just warm. The mens fish and chips batter not very crispy and fish a little bit watery. Deserts good.

As it so happened, I popped in for lunch and breakfast. Lunch - I had a fish sandwich. It was ok. I can?t remember whether I felt it needed more fish, or another half of a sandwich or both. Breakfast the following morning was nice. We both had a full English. There?s outdoor seating area to the front and the rear and being the weather was ok, I took the opportunity to sit in both areas across the two visits

Lovely afternoon spent at the Carpenters Arms for our family get together. The staff were attentive and friendly as soon as we arrived. We reserved no. 3 cabana in the garden which was perfect for our party of 7. We were served by the lovely Hannah who looked after us so well. The food was excellent, we all had roast dinners and the pigs in duvets are a must, they are huge. A great first visit we will be back!

It was fine! Breakfast offering of a microwaved chewy croissant was poor but full English fine. Wobbly toilet seat in room and some other details prevented five stars. Staff were friendly and helpful but a little stretched. (Overnight stay with dinner and breakfast)

Weekday evening at 6pm, the pub was not busy until about 8pm for a quiz night. But service was slow and it was hard to attract someone's attention for orders and billing. 2 out of 4 meal orders were incorrect so 2 of us had finished eating before the other 2 got their food. The food was average. Won't rush back.

A very special celebratory weekend for a family event, and a rare chance to get the whole family together. A wonderful venue. Very thoughtfully friendly, warm and relaxed team across the bar and restaurant. Great service. Great meal. And some of us stayed in the rooms, which were lovely, comfortable and thoughtfully planned. Breakfasts were great. I couldn't have asked for more for a really important family celebration.
