I stopped shopping here as I wanted Tesco to put everything I buy each week, in one isle, so I?m in and out faster? (obviously I?m joking)
No idea why? but I?ve never liked the store. Maybe it?s the layout of the store, maybe the lighting? Maybe the sheer size of the building. I just don?t like shopping here? wish I knew why?
The store has everything, so many products and a multitude of choices for all your needs.
The only downside I?ve encountered is a few miserable staff and a lack of tills open, leading to long queues.
There?s a Cafe.
Toilets.
A huge car park.
I wish I knew why I don?t like shopping here?.?
I remember why, my ex girlfriend shops here?
Let me know when she?s not shopping here anymore and I?ll come back.
An average shopping experience but everything you?ll want is in store, under one roof?

Visited Tesco Gillingham Extra on 17 Aug 2025 to use the car wash. In at 07:08, out at 07:39 (31 minutes). The car-park signage says maximum stay 3 hours between 6am?10pm, yet I received a Parking Charge Notice from Horizon Parking claiming I?d exceeded the stay.
There was no clear signage at the forecourt/car wash about registering your number plate at Customer Services, and staff didn?t mention it. If registration is required, it needs to be prominent at the entrance and at the car wash. Penalising genuine customers for unclear rules is unacceptable.
Warning to other drivers: if you use the car wash (especially early Sunday mornings), take photos of the signs and make sure your plate is registered?otherwise you may get an unfair PCN despite staying well within the 3-hour limit.

Not enough tills open. Slow on scanning and service when queues are building.

I went into store to get food & decided to get some crusty bread rolls & apricot jam, this is where it went wrong, unless you buy cut all of their crusty bread is open like a French market, they keep their baguettes close to the ground at ankle height, whilst I was there I observed the clientele coughing & sneezing over the bread products on display aswell as leaning over to allow their loose hair & dandruff to aslo season the food, I did ask to see a manager & was presented with a young lady who appeared to be on work experience that glared at me then proceeded to read me the riot act about it being Tesco Company policy for that produce to be kept in that manner, that there has been no other complaints & that other stores hold their same produce in the same manner, I simply smiled & said I just wanted a formal representative of Tesco to be aware I would be posting about my experience & that there was a camera over the isle they could check, so here's the jist I informed them they had contaminated produce & they ignored me & took no report, here's what you all apparently need to know, you can wash fruit & veg, you can't wash bread, it is highly absorbant so you are basically consuming everyone who's passed closely to it when you eat it, if you do get ill say a week 2 weeks after you eat food of this manner, say with cold, flu, odd skin irritation & other issues I'll let you find out about on your own it's more than likely down to you consuming food like this bread you have consumed, you havnt just caught a chill, the girl let slip Tesco are pulling something fairly nefarious here, they won't get complaints because the consumer won't see ill effect for at least a week after consuming the product, this is very sneaky & it's being done to save money on packaging, this is exactly why I stay away from food products presented in this manner where ever I go, you have all been warned if you don't want to consume other people's snot, hair, & dandruff & risk getting very sick don't buy open products like the bread, like this especially at this Tesco, & as stated by a formal representative of Tesco who didn't give her name but allowed herself to be identified as the shop manager it is Tesco company policy to take this risk with customers health, today is sunday 27/07/25.

The lady working Saturday 14th - I think her same was Nic? What an absolute star, handled the busy rush extremely well while dealing with all sorts of different customers - She?s amazing at her job and should be proud. She deserves bonus, payrise and everything good.

If it is not bad enough that the lower classes are having to buy their clothes from the grocery shops, the clothes are low standard fabrics, and are often filthy, as if they have been dragged across the floor.
You offer No discounts and incentives for coeliacs that can only find the their excessively overpriced Free From range at the larger grocery shops. Tesco are greedy, unethical, and scummy. I will no longer buy from any Tesco.

Avoid at the moment because Courtney Rd is shut, every row in the car park is full of stationary cars because no-one can get out of the carpark

Queues into the aisles for the 5 of the 33 checkouts that are actually open..
They want us all to do the self scan thing so they can save on staff..
Some of us dont want to...
Open the bloody checkouts ?
Staff are usually quite friendly though
