My recent experience here was awful. I booked for a wash, blow-dry and trim and just as my appointment was about to finish, the owner (who wasn't the one doing my hair) came over, analysed and picked at parts of my hair (the front in particular) and basically said that the braids I had done prior (not done at this salon, I had them done elsewhere) had damaged some of my hair follicles. In retrospect, this isn't an issue - but it's the fact that this was said and being done fairly loudly, in the presence of two other clients, which was so embarrassing. The owner also told the other stylist to 'come and have a look at what the braids has done to her hair' meaning that I had three stylists (including the stylist that actually done my hair) in total hovering over me, which made me super uncomfortable. I was also being asked several questions such as what hairstyle I'm doing next, how long will I have that hair in for, where am I getting it done etc. by a stylist who was NOT doing my hair?! I think there is a fine line between giving your client/s advice, suggestions etc. on how to take hair of their hair and shaming them or making them feel embarrassed. I also didn't appreciate being roped into a debate about whether Caribbean food was better than African food or vice versa. That is not a conversation I engage in generally, let alone with people I don't know, and at a salon, at that! I must also add that the trimming of my hair took circa 45 minutes, and as I had a train to catch, this meant I was already on tight timing, so the fact I was being asked 101 questions towards the end of my appointment whilst I'm just trying to get out of there asap was quite frustrating, also considering the experience I had. I never write bad reviews because if in the rare occasion I have a bad experience, I just say to myself that I'll not go back, but the experience here was just really bad that I just had to write this review.

Really disappointed in my visit this time around. I?ve been to this salon twice and each time I?ve gone in for a trim of my natural curls. First of all I booked two different appointments, one a week before which I received no confirmation email for. So on Saturday I rebooked on the website that gave the option for a 2 o clock slot, when I got there all 3 chairs were booked out and I ended up not getting my hair cut until around half 3.Both times i have been my hair has been cut very short. The first time I put it down to not being clear with the hairdresser as to what I wanted but this time I was clear that I wanted to retain length, and just trim any dead ends.I was told that I had ?split ends running all the way up my shaft of hair? as soon as I sat down and then I proceeded to have more than one hairdresser picking out what was wrong with my hair whilst other clients were also in their chairs. This was very embarrassing.The reason for my dry hair was due to me washing my hair and putting absolutely no product in it. And also because my hair has been processed with hi lift and ginger dye, but I know for definite I didn?t have split ends running all the way to my scalp and I felt as this was the basis of the justification to cut off so much of my hair. As the hair dresser cut my hair she kept telling me that ??my hair is funny? and ?you can?t tell if bits are hanging out to cut?It was clear that my hair was a challenge to style and cut due to the nature of the curls, but rather than turn down my custom I was left with a very short cut, my hair was just above my shoulders and now it is at jaw length and barely goes up into a bun.All in all what I wanted wasn?t respected and I was made to feel like my hair was too difficult to manage and made to feel that I don?t know how to take care of it all in-front of other clients.I don?t think I will be coming back here again.

Unfortunately I can't recommend this place simply because the customer service was appalling.If you like getting your hair cut on time, please find someplace else. I had my appointment booked for 4pm...started cutting my hair at 5:30.I wasn't the only one waiting around either. Would have excused the delay if they had called me beforehand to let me know. And unlike other salons I've been to, they didn't offer a drink either even after the wait.
