Always a great hair experience at Golden Essence! I have visited several times over the last few years and have always been so happy with my hair at every visit. Gold is highly professional, very friendly and you will never leave disappointed! I have had so many compliments on my hair since I started visiting Gold and I am so happy to have found an amazing hairdresser for braids and weaves in Kent (no more traipsing down to London for me!). Her prices are very competitive too. I honestly couldn't recommend Gold more highly.Service: Hair extensions

After 4 months of lockdown my hair needed nothing short of a miracle. I have to say Gold did just that. A full relax, treatment and cut later and my hair looks great. It was a family affair so cuts for my boys as well. Gold observed great sanitisation standards wearing a visor and mask as well. Sanitiser was available for customers and space created to ensure 2m could be maintained.

I had a consultation with Gold, and made an appointment for the following week after paying £55 as the 50% deposit on semi permanent colour removal, toning and highlight. When I arrived, she had forgotten entirely about the colour removal and mixed up highlight. She also started quoting new pricing which was a big red flag. After some discussion, I decided rather than save the damaged, colour treated hair I would prefer a big chop and begin anew. Gold said this was fine, rang up her clients to say that the chair would be open earlier than previously planned and cut my hair. She even took a walk in client during, which I didn't mind at all. She charged us £120 at the till, and my husband assumed that she must have forgotten we had paid a deposit because no way would a cut and blow dry be even more than a set of colour treatments.Her computers were down so she said she would have to check, and call us later. Which she did in the evening, where she explained actually now she was charging for the consultation, and another one on the day. And that she had given me "two haircuts" plus she'd also mixed up developer for highlights and that was a great loss. It was a sad conversation, during which we felt embarrassed by the excuses that she had obviously taken all day to come up with yet still didn't make any sense.I would have tipped regardless for the service even though it got off awkwardly but as it stands I just assume that little money was really needed and I won't miss it anyway. But it's a strange way to make sure a new customer never returns by taking advantage immediately. Thanks anyway for the haircut!

I absolutely love doing my hair at Golden Essence!! I always walk out on ?top of the world? Definitaley 5/5 is well deserved. I travel 2 hours by car to get my hair done here. Fab service and a hairdresser who knows what her clients want.
