Recent experience with this storefront.
I ordered a PS3 console online, which was posted to me from this store (Order ID: 19770678). Fortunately, I had myself filmed while opening the box and showing that the warranty sticker had been removed and that the console had been accessed and tampered with previously.
For the store in question to accept this is against CeX policy and to send it to me, even more so, given it would void the 5 year warranty I would be entitled to.
I returned this order to the Belfast Ann Street store. The staff member there immediately noticed the broken warranty seal and refunded me. I do believe it was not relisted as available stock on the CeX system.
But here is the issue I have. A customer support associate called Nikhil has been extremely unprofessional after submitting a ticket through the CeX ticket system (email ref: #CeXCS-3216949). Initially, I had returned a badly scratched disc and had my refund refused as, ?The two-digit code on the back side of the disc does not match between the item sent by us and the one you returned.?
This is a lie and I can prove it. I always have myself filmed while opening any parcel from CeX and this was no exception. Evidently, the store in question sent another disc rhey had in stock or had previously swapped it. Irregardless, I have been collating all evidence to forward to trading standards.
But back to this customer support associate, Nikhil. Here are two outrageous lies on their part.
1) ?Please note that we won't buy any item without the warranty seal on it. Before buying a particular item, we perform various tests on it to ensure it is fit to be bought.? - direct quote from Nikhil
Lie. I literally had to return this console because the warranty seal was broken. The staff member at Ann Street even stated to me as such. So why is Nikhil lying here?

2) ?For order 19770678, the delivery charge has been refunded. For return postage reimbursement, could you please share the postage receipt with me?? - direct quote from Nikhil
Again, another lie. I literally had to email this support associate my receipt to prove I had not been refunded and they won?t respond to further emails.
So here is the summary and how I stand:
This store does not test their items properly, nor do they send orders to customers that are in line with policy (and with questionable legality.)
Customer support associate ?Nikhil? is extremely unprofessional and accusatory alongside lying for no reason.
I have a broken disc (Order ID: 19695604) that I spent £44.95 on that CeX refuses to refund because some dodgy staff member swapped or misplaced the correct disc.
I have been shortchanged for an item sent from THIS store because THIS store doesn?t know how to properly quality check items they accept and post.

FAULTY PRODUCT - I purchased a DJ Mixer online which was advertised as refurbished with a 24-month warranty. Delivery time was pretty good but it DID NOT FUNCTION correctly straight away ? in 5 minutes of use I was able to establish that all the faders were worn, one channel was very low volume as a result and the bass controls on two of the other channels were worn out, only working full on or full off depending how you held the knob - there were signs that it had been tampered with as there were two screws missing from the casing.
I returned the mixer to one of the branches within the two-day return policy and they seemed happy to accept it at first ? one of the guys picked up the mixer and gave it a shake which made a noise. He then said that it had been damaged in transit and I could only return it online through customer support.
NIGHTMARE AT CEX - that?s when the nightmare started ? they requested photos of the box so they could contact the courier, which I sent, but they were not happy because they did not show any damage to the box ? that?s because there wasn?t any.
I pointed out that I returned the item because it was faulty and had not been refurbished as advertised and it had not been damaged in transit.
My guess is they tried to refurbish it and gave up, then knowingly sent out it out faulty with the intention of claiming from the courier as damaged in transit.
The whole saga took almost a month to sort out which has wasted many hours of my life and they can never give back ? I should have checked the reviews as I have seen others with the same experience.
From now on I will stick to eBay ? sellers are obliged to list any faults and if they don?t, eBay sort it very quickly.

Variety of any computer hardware / gaming consoles is pretty limited and they can?t order to store, which is really annoying. However, great 2 years warranty, they check if item is not working properly and replace it with no questions asked to something similar in price to the original purchase price (not the current price of the item). Prices are pretty good as well. Also good stock of essential items that might be needed immediately (you can find any charger / data cable etc here for sure)
