This has to be the absolute worst Asda, maybe worst supermarket I have ever been to. Most of the staff are miserable and unprofessional. Whilst there are large queues of people waiting to checkout, some staff just stand around the front laughing and joking with the security staff.
There have been times where I have asked some staff if they could check for items out the back as they're not on the shelves and the younger staff mostly are too lazy to be kind enough to go and check.
The store is the absolute worst for stock. There's always huge gaps on shelves, items out of stock for weeks. If you want to order something from their George range, it takes the longest to arrive for click & collect.
A few months ago, I cooked and ate some of their diced chicken breast which had a sharp shard of bone in one of the chunks and it cut the inside of my mouth and luckily I dodnt swallow it and choke. I wrapped it up and took it to the store and told them about it, where I was meant by the most miserable young lady, who looked at me like I was a problem. She eventually called a supervisor who issued me a £15 gift card but no apology and handed it to me in a way as if to just try and get rid of me.
The fruit section is diabolical. The labels on some of the fruit packages say the fruit is quality checked and hand picked. If that is true, whoever has that job needs sacking because half the time their fruit is rotten, tastes disgusting and is far from fresh. Last week I purchased some nectarines around half past 8 in the evening. By the morning when I went to open them to have one, they had started to rot.
I live close by and because where I live is a nightmare to receive home deliveries, otherwise I'd probably use Tesco home delivery service. I am surprised that the Asda isn't a bigger store with more staff, similar to the one in Chatham Horsted which is larger and has two floors. There is room for that here and maybe a bigger store with more staff would help make it better. But it's got to the point where I keep hoping one day it'll end up being sold to Tesco and become a Tesco store.

No stock, mouldy fruits and veg and don't even bother with their reduced section unless you like risking hospital trips. Should be shut down. I haven't seen much if any progress reducing plastic packaging which is bad for everything and everyone.

I went to the cafe area for a pizza meal deal.
Had to wait five minutes as only one member of staff and she was cleaning tables.
Told no chips.
I was hungry so said obviously cheaper she said yes.
The meal deal was a pizza, chips, dip and drink of your choice including tea or coffee for £5.20. She charged me 4.80.
For a pizza and coffee, when I questioned it she said it was because you had coffee. She stared at me blankly.
There was a queue so I didn't carry on complaining.
40p difference!!!
Considering it's asdas how can she have no chips.
Unbelievable won't be using that Asdas again.

Good for some items that are reasonably priced

The store has a lot more to offer than my local one. The dates on items have a longer date and seem fresher. BUT it was the cafe that was disappointing, and that's a bit of an understatement. There were two members of staff that were more interested in catching up, then actually service. And could only do one thing at a time. Cutlery and napkins were not available. Hand sanitiser was empty, AND the best of all I'd say was a bit of health and safety issue was some of the seating area. Torn and ripped. Metal hanging out of the cushions. I'm not sure if the company that runs cafes in asda stores or the store itself that are trying to run them down and get rid of the cafes as I've found in other stores the coffee machines don't always work (it's a cafe I would like a coffee) they've not got a lot to choose from the menu as they haven't had a delivery for weeks. It's such a shame that care for the cafes isn't a priority

Humiliated at Asda ? A Shocking Display of Staff Disrespect (4th July 2025)
I never thought I?d be writing this, but what happened today at Asda (4th July 2025, around 8:00 PM) was not just disappointing?it was humiliating.
My wife and I have been shopping at this store regularly since April this year. Today, as we were leaving after paying for our items, we approached the exit and were unaware that a new anti-theft scanner had been installed recently that requires customers to scan their receipt.
As usual, I had tucked the receipt into one of the shopping bags for budgeting purposes. While I searched for it, a female voice said, ?You can leave.? I wasn?t sure if she meant us. Then suddenly, we heard loud, mocking laughter.
When I turned around, I saw a young male staff member laughing at us, while the female staff member, who even had earlier helped us at the checkout, stood nearby smiling.
I exited the barrier and calmly asked if there was a reason for their laughter. The girl quickly stopped smiling?perhaps realising the situation. But the boy replied nonchalantly, ?People often get stuck in the doors, that?s why I laughed.?
I responded, saying that as an employee, your job is to assist people?not to mock them.
And what happened next? He walked off and started laughing again.
This kind of behaviour from staff, especially towards paying customers trying to follow store rules, is completely unacceptable. Instead of support, we were met with mockery?for something as simple as retrieving a receipt.
I won?t waste time filing a complaint, but I sincerely hope Asda management reads this and takes action. Basic courtesy, empathy, and professionalism shouldn?t be too much to ask for.

Always low on stock with half empty shelves. Online shopping pickers always in the way with thier trolley.
Long queues at checkout as never more than 3 or 4 manned checkouts open even on the busiest times with queues going half way down the store
