“Customer toilets, car wash, air, Subway roll shop, and a well stocked convenience store, this energy station is a little oasis in Cheriton High Street. Very pleased to see the arrival of a rapid charger for electric vehicles at this location, which is now fully functional, this is great forward thinking by Shell. The charger has AC, CCS and Chademo plugs. However, in order to get a charge, a Geniepoint card or app is required. This means if you've not got a RFID card (why should you have?), then you must have a smart phone with the app and a data plan. This will exclude many people who either cannot use or are not willing to use an Android or apple device and have a pre-paid subscription to Geniepoint. Therefore everyone who is not tech savvy is excluded from using the charging facilities. Reversing out of the bay is a bit dodgy, as you must reverse out just by the main exit, and the view is hampered additionally by a large Costa coffee cup! It would certainly aid visibility leaving the bay if this was moved elsewhere please.”
