I booked a stay in this hotel with a friend to stay a few days in Dover and on the arrival no one was in to do the checking which is not usual for a hotel. I phoned the property days before and all the booking was okay. This made me anxious. I decided to call the accommodation customer service and they told me that the hotel was closed due to the Covid19 pandemic and that if I wanted a refund (I requested that) that I have to call the customer service of the company where I booked-in my stay. The company was also surprised about the event. Happily I was lucky to find somewhere else to stay as in another way I would have to stay in the streets with my friend (literally). This hotel did not have the decency of cancelling the reservation or to email saying that it was closed. It is very unprofessional and dodgy. It caused me huge amounts of anxiety. NEVER booking again in this hotel. And I hope no one will.

I was on essential travel during COVID-19 and booked one night to catch a very early ferry the next morning. As I wanted to make sure that everything was sorted due to lockdown, I?ve contacted the property via the booking platform and got a reply from them saying everything is fine. However, when I arrived - after 10hrs of driving, with another 10hrs of driving ahead of me on the next day - nobody was there. I called, and the owner said he?d be there in a few minutes. I waited for over an hour, but nobody ever showed up. So, I was lucky enough that I could stay in the guest house (St Albans) next to it on a very short notice. However, the money which I paid in advance was not refunded. It wasn?t much, but this is not right. Very very bad service!

My problems started with this hotel just after I booked a room. I had great trouble contacting the establishment to make them aware of my intended late check in. I waited in a cramped reception for 15 minutes to be checked in and was charged £20 for a late check in. The bed was uncomfortable and the shower room had no where to hang my towel or my clothes. No wifi password was made available and I was awake for two hours listening to a row in the room above me. It was a terrible experience!

Had the basement room. The wierd door in the bathroom opens into the garden which also has a gap underneath and the damp and cold air come in under it. Light came in through the blind and the view was if the bins. It wasn't cleaned properly...someone's razor cover was in the sink and the bedding felt slightly damp. The towels seemed ok. The key broke off in the bedroom door and we were stuck in there as no one answered the front door or the phone.
