We had a lovely mid-afternoon Sunday lunch here on Mother's Day. Lots to recommend. First, great service all round. Second, fabulous mocktails for drivers. Third, great takes on the conventional Sunday lunch menu, with a real individuality to the served meal rather than heaped up from a carvery. Fourth, deep flavours - the duck rice was just incredible, making the most of the fat and absorbent rice. Fifth, great atmosphere and decor. Sixth, value - we felt the meal was worth every penny. Would not hesitate to recommend.

Restaurant: really well curated menu. The desserts are particularly good. Lovely atmosphere and very friendly staff. Feels like a friendly neighbourhood pub, but with high quality food and cool decor.Hotel: I really enjoyed our room. Beautiful lighting and a clever use of space. Nice touches like a record player and some vinyl. Cool design. It?s a really atmospheric, characterful place to stay, right on the high street with the reassuring hum of local activity from outside. Will be back!

Eat here, don't sleep here.We stayed for a night on the winter warmer deal, which was overall great value for money. It included a three course meal, which was good. But the room itself, despite being nicely decorated, is a light-sleepers worst nightmare. The church bells sound until late and then go off early, and the sound-proofing is bizarre. You will hear a truck pulling up outside and a person coughing in a communal area like they are by your bedside, but I never heard a sound from anyone else in any of the rooms. They do supply ear plugs but these should be made more obvious. And, apparently, they do warn about the noise on the website but as this was booked by my partner, I had no idea it would be that loud.Again, stay away if you are a light sleeper ( I wish I knew beforehand).

Stunning pub/restaurant with rooms, recently refurbished to a very high standard. The rooms are delightful, and several are dog friendly (with prior agreement). The food is exceptional, and all the staff were lovely. Highly recommended, not least for the lovely location on Deal's charming High Street.

Mwalk jn guests for the restaurant. Great food and service. The cocktails are a great selection and well mixed too. The fig tart was absolutely fabulous while the fish pie was probably one of the best I had. Would definitely

After returning to give The Rose a 2nd chance, we left disappointed again after poor bar service. Upon entering the bar, after 20 minutes we weren?t offered drinks and it was clear we weren?t welcome. Unless you?re a couple you?re told to ?move down into the seats? as though you?re at school.

We ate in the restaurant. Top end menu with some classics such as Mac and cheese and burgers if you?re feeling less adventurous. Nice cocktail menu. Wine is £40-80 mark for a bottle. Mains £20-30. There is a kids menu during daytime.Nearby activities: Deal, Walmer, and Dover castles. The sea. Lots of pubs. Shopping. Margate, Ramsgate.Walkability: It?s in the centre of town on the high street so near everything. Deal is flat so easy to walk around.

Can?t comment on rooms as I?ve only eaten here, but the food alone is noteworthy. Recently popped in for lunch with a friend and had the most incredible 3 course set menu. Additionally our servers were so friendly and attentive, we were asked about food allergies more than once, and had a nice chat about other local places to visit. Will be returning as soon as I can!

Warm and welcoming pub. We didn?t stay here, but popped in during a frosty December evening and had a great couple of glasses of mulled wine. The staff were very welcoming and the atmosphere was so cozy, really liked the interiors.

We booked in for the NYE set menu, and wow, did it deliver! Very special food with a memorable welcome cocktail and service to match. Mushrooms on toast the hightlight for me. We will be back.

We popped in for a drink the evening before and thought it looked like a great lunch or dinner spot for the next day so we booked a table? it did not disappoint. The mac and cheese was fantastic, the aged beef tartare was perfectly seasoned and the mulberry sour was divine. Great service and a dog friendly environment. What more could one ask for?!

A disappointing experience after wanting to go here for several years. The service was slow, took near an hour to take our order and receive the starters. The table kept nearly falling over from the slightest lean on it and the atmosphere was flat despite it being busy. They served the waffles dish (£9) cold yet burnt (whether they were supposed to be cold I?m not sure) how it didn?t get checked at the pass is concerning given their reputation. The burger (£17) was underwhelming for what it was, didn?t taste of much. The baked duck rice (£24) didn?t have any flavour. The mac and cheese (£15) was okay. The highlight was the roasted potato?s and yeast butter (£5)Unfortunately I wouldn?t recommend it to anyone and there nothing memorable about the experience.

Our favourite drinking drop in. So cool. The mulled wine is to die for. The red haired barman has the kind of friendly above and beyond service that many other establishments could do with bottling. There is a barmaid who is clearly not happy in her work but we didn't let it effect our experience. We didn't get to have dinner but everything that came out of the kitchen while we were there looked great.
