My daughter and I had a lovely time at The Astor Theatre for the Christmas panto. (Oh yes, we did!!) I totally recommend keeping it in mind for this year's panto. I knocked off one star because I felt the price was just a couple of quid on the high side.

Great venue, but when busy the bar struggles to cope. At least they struggle with a smile on there face

Reading reviews on here, people complaining about people standing up at the shows. It is permitted for other patrons to stand and dance in their seats, the aisles and at the front of the venue if they wish. The only time it is not is when the person/production company that have hired the venue request that everyone remain seated for the entire performance. Security will not ask someone to sit down if the promoter/band/act wants people to dance/interact. Same as people complaining about others using their phones during the performance. There is no regulation that says they can't. Is it bad manners, yes but Security can not enforce it. The people who book the venue make the decision on whether the show will be a seated or standing event.

A community theatre presenting a diverse range of performers and productions. We saw Murder she Solved, a bonkers show of rare delight.
