Welcoming place, we stopped here after visiting the lavender fields. Staff is amazing and friendly the food however is not impressive, the ribs were really good and also the rabbit but the pork belly was unfortunately soggy. Must have been a unlucky day for the chef but unfortunately that was my only experience.

There definitely not going to win any awards for being welcoming really cold and moody if fact worse service i have ever received just painfully slow, but the food was surprisingly very good in fact the food was excellent and fairly priced so if your looking for a really good Sunday dinner then I would recommend. Toilets very clean.

Hadn't been here for many a year but took friends as we were passing and had a lovely lunch. Staff friendly and chatty making a good atmosphere. Will come back.

Lovely pub in a stunning village.
10/10 - The food was amazing, big portions and excellent prices regarding quality/quantity.
Forgot to take pictures of the wraps we had but they were delicious.
Highly recommend it.

This was my first time at the Malt Shovel and would definitely return. The food was very good and portions very substantial. Service was very good considering this was a birthday celebration with over 20 people.

Lovely pub, so accommodating even though we'd managed to accidentally book their namesake in Dartford instead! Food was delicious and the staff were so helpful with our fussy son's food demands. Nice garden area out the back as well with big trees and parking was fine across the road.

Pretty village and a good walk from Shoreham station or closer to Eynsford station.
Good choice of typical pub food classics for lunch and lovely garden at the back.

Came in with a friend and a baby in a pram. The gentleman serving was so polite and friendly.
I ordered the Hunters chicken, and sticky toffee pudding for dessert.
Both were delicious, only feedback would be that a strawberry was very random to put on a sticky toffee pudding and you?d be better serving hunters chicken with those thicker chips you have.
Amazing toilets which is unusual for a pub, heater is a bit rusty BUT I would rather look at a rusty heater if it means using a clean shiny and new bathroom like the ones in this pub.
Would go back, would reccomend booking as it was BUSY.

There?s not a patch anywhere that even remotely comes up to the malt shovels Onion Rings!!!! So when we eat on a Tuesday steak night which again is the best by far , the onion rings need to be eaten first ? Onion rings rule here ?
